Bingo. Plus, how can I make you food without an oven or stove?

You should start a park group with your friends, Andy, I think that would be cool (weather permitting, of course). Naturally, we'd still love for you to participate in our little group, but more music clubs can only be a good thing.

Definitly having great sound is necessary to really accomplish the goal of enjoying music. It would preferable that it would be in a quieter area in golden gate away from hipsters. They do have grills to cook on in the meadows which would be nice. I have a good group of friends genuinely interested in doing something like this, but wouldn't really be comfortable bringing a bunch over to Greg's haha

Really, this whole thing is essentially a group of friends hanging out and playing music. Basically my way of getting people to come out and relax together. If you've got the friends and people to do it, then I say start up another group. I think evone needs to make a conscious effort to do things like this. Who doesn't like listening to music with friends?

Start your own "non-hipster" event of listening to vinyl records on a portable stereo sound system in Golden Gate Park, dude. This event does not ever need to be relocated. Have I mentioned that Greg makes bomb ass tacos?

Definitly didn't have any intensions of changing anything you have going on here. I think it's great and plan on making time to check this out. Just glad there are like minded folks around here with great taste in music. Hopefully I can get some of my ideas started and wouldn't mind if our paths crossed cause I'm sure they have before.

I'm now attached to the idea of leaving a record player playing a record in the park with a big noose around it and calling it a hipster trap.

I have some new records for my hipster trap. I'm going to see which one attracts more hipsters. I'll be sure to report back.

When hipster-snaring, I find it best to avoid the obvious choices and load up on 80s Bay Area synth yacht-rock. If you're going for really big game, bring the Loutallica record; the urge to champion will be too great for some of them.

    Bump.

We're meeting Tuesday. So far I've only heard back from Cara, Lee, Edward, and Heidi. Come on, people, it takes < a minute to drop an e-mail.

Greg, did you decide on a theme for this meeting, or any requests?

A theme was never settled upon or discussed, really. So bring whatever you feel like. With Coachella coming, I guess we could focus on Coachella artists, but we still have time to do a Coachella theme.

Ok, so far it's Salah, Cara, Heidi, and myself. The rest of you don't want to miss this party, I promise you.

So our girl Heidi just informed me that our meeting is falling on Fat Tuesday. That's right, Mardi Gras. Carnival. The Bacchanalia, I don't care what you call it, we all know what it means. No, we're not flashing each other for beads, though you can flash me for free if you want.

In honor of this ageless, drunken tradition I think our loose musical theme should be "Carnival." Now, I'm not talking about brassy New Orleans jazz, though I will certainly be spinning some of that on my turn. I want you all to bring the music that really gets you off and gives you that ecstatic, visceral release when you listen. Let's cut the fuck loose and have a righteous Fat Tuesday.

Awesome. I am not sure I really have music on theme, but I am going to try to make a king cake, and maybe bring ingredients to make hurricanes.

Yes, after I posted that, I realized I will be bringing another Max Cooper 12" with me. (Sorry).

I'll have to look through and see what else I have. The things I had picked out don't really fit this week.
