It requires a very specific set of circumstances to be able to make it out to SF on a weekday in the early evening. Are we doing a meeting the first week in April? If so, I can probably do that. My carpool-mate will be out of town and I can just head straight in from work in Marin.
Oh ya! Fever Ray was after Flunk, right? That was played before I left.
Yep, it went:
Flunk > Fever Ray (original version) > Fuck Buttons' remix > Hecher & Ward > Burial (I'm guessing this was after we left)

I like the theme idea, but my record collection is very focused and likely to stay that way. it might limit participation.
I'm fine doing either theme nights or otherwise.
Shoot, as it stands now, we curate a theme via the records we bring along. I find this inadvertent interconnectedness to be quite cool.

It was really uncanny how well everything fit together last night. The whole night transitioned seamlessly.
And Edward, I'm certain a theme wouldn't limit you too much. Style/genre, players, influences, title, etc. The possibilities are endless, whatever you want to make it.
Have you done a Coachella lineup oriented meeting yet? The next one will probably be our last meeting before Coachella....
I unfortunately cannot attend one until after Coachella. I'm actually writing my thesis.

This Saturday doesn't work for Heidi and I, we'll be at the Tiger & Woods show all afternoon/evening.
Otherwise, my availability is wide open.

Next week would be good for me, I don't have too many shows planned.
Ha. For real? Good! Keep working, pal, let me know if you need someone to proofread sections for you. I know you're the bomb at grammar and English and stuff, but it's good to get fresh eyes on stuff after you've been working for weeks and weeks. Good luck. Just know that I'll be resharpening my darts skills everyday until we play again. Don't sleep, you've been warned.
Ok, cool. Should we shoot for a weekend, or is that no bueno for folks? I could do Saturday or Sunday next week. Or, the typical Tuesday, or even Wednesday. I know certain folks are good with Wednesdays and not Tuesdays, so that's certainly something to consider as well. I'll look at my schedule tonight and I'll know if Wednesday is open for me. Or the weekend. But, you know, everyone talks about how weekends are better, and then those same people don't respond to e-mails or even show up (note: I'm referring to all the lurkers and no-names who got all excited about this and then never participated, not any of our board regulars). I'll send out an e-mail to everybody and see what they're feeling.
My vote is to meet up Saturday 4/07.

Hrm, I may not be able to do the 7th, but don't let me deter you.
that day works for me but I don't think I have any records from coachella artists, so if it is coachella themed my participation will be limited.
I think the only one I have is ISAM, anyway, which I'm not sure I'd really care to play at record club.
oh wait. radiohead. duh.
also, beirut.
game on.
WHAT?!
With regard to the Coachella theme, I've got Radiohead (Ok Computer), Jimmy Cliff (The Harder They Come), and The Shins (Oh! Inverted World and Chutes Too Narrow).
I may have more Coachella artists, so I'll have to take a closer look. My records were in need of re-organizing anyway![]()

^Ha.
Let's see, I have The Bends, Kid A, The Harder They Come and Sacred Fire (Jimmy Cliff) on vinyl. I also have a ton of Flying Lotus vinyl, a few Black Keys records and a Madness LP.
For mp3 and CDs, though, I have Buzzcocks, Refused, ATDI, Dre & Snoop, Gary Clark Jr, Modeselektor, Real Estate, Destroyer, Explosions in the Sky, Death Grips, Dawes, Bon Iver, NMH, Gaslamp Killer, Thundercat and more.
Between all our resources, we should be cool. Cara's got some Coachella vinyl, I believe, but she's off being studious and shit. Oh, and Jennie has Florence + the Machine on wax. So we've got a few . . .
