I like the line up and would really enjoy hanging out plus checking out all the local beer.Yet i have to get metric tools and some more right now instead of a flight to Austin.

Musts: Television, Deerhunter, Chelsea Light Moving, Descendents

Probables: The Walkmen, The Locust, Tenacious D, Slayer, Thee Oh Sees, Kurt Vile, King Kahn, Daniel Johnston. Flag, too I guess, so I can hear Keith Morris preach at me some more.

Maybe: Snoop, MIA, MGMT, Cut Copy, Delorean, Sparks, Bill Callahan

Curious: the Tontons, Mac Demarco, Frank Smith. Much more research to do though.

Did I mention I wish we had the schedule?

edit: I am very open to suggestions.

    I would recommend : True Window,Quicksand,Cloud Nothing,The Julien Ruin,Craig Robinson,Melt Bananna,The Men.

Cara has been trying to see XXXYYXX.

FLAG at FYF was one of my favorite sets I have seen this year.If your not a HUGE fan of Sparks you may not be as into it as I was.Cut Copy has been great everytime I have seen them but I would be a little suprise if you liked it.Sorry again about talking you to see Glasser that one Coachella.Deltron 3030 was great when I saw them eariler this year yet i am a huge fan of their material. I think I like what I have heard from Cayucas. Also Sarah Sliverman is really funny she has great joke that you could relate to Amyz and her daughter's shower problem.

oh shit i forgot about Cloud Nothings. Damn how did I overlook that? They're on my Must list. I love them. Fuck I just got excited for this all over again.

I saw Sparks for about 10 minutes at Coachella and wasn't feeling it at all. But they deserve another chance barring any conflicts.

thanks for the recommendations. Gives me a place to pursue further research.

Hey Tom, just to so know, the Flag set I saw at FYF was way different than seeing OFF! Keith kept his trap shut and it was a fucking blistering 40 minute set with 22 songs. it was pretty incredible, actually. i'll definitely see them again if there's no major conflicts.

Also, we definitely need to meet up and have some brews.

Do you check out the Nites shows too, or do you head back to the hotel after the show usually?

I didn't go to Nites last year, a day and evening outside listening to music is enough for me usually. The hotel i'm at is walking distance too so i don't have to mess with a car.

    Definitely brews. definitely.

So, I ordered USP, and, I got a "digital ticket" where I guess I pick up my wristband etc at the venue? Does this jibe with anyone else's understanding?

Yep. I emailed them though requesting to switch from will call to mail delivery (not sure how long the will call line usually is for this).

Do they do will call on Thursday? I was originally concerned about the process of wristband exchange that day for Nites, but since they just shipped wristbands directly that's no longer a concern for me. These are pretty lame paper wristbands to wear for 4 nights though.

No Age replaces Death Grips (who've canceled their Fall tour). I'm fine with this. Death Grips are great live, but their bullshit has grown tiresome.

WTF. Fucking Death Grips. Now I'm really glad I was able to see them at FYF. I was hoping to see them again. But I had to miss No Age there, so hopefully I can this time.

Death Grips are bullshit. They can do great stuff, but they're so far up their own asses I couldn't care less.

Tom, you should definitely see Bill Callahan. He has a real easy energy on stage and is such an able and confident performer. I've only seen him solo, so I can imagine that a set with a band will just be more focused and entertaining. You can't go wrong with any of your musts: Deerhunter is the most consistent live show I've seen, Cloud Nothings is so impressive in terms of how they play as a unit and Descendents pull off everything you could ever ask if you're a fan of their music. I really wish I could make this fest just so I could see Slayer and The Locust with you. That sounds like the ultimate good time.

Oh, and see Flag. It's a total nostalgia trip, they rip through the set, every song is excellent and Keith doesn't even have control of the mic for some of the best stuff (Dez takes control.) They were a great time and I had a sinus infection for a week after their set due to all the kids moshing. The only bummer is no songs after My War, when they put out two fantastic records that Bill Stevenson played on.

The Men put out my favorite non-metal album of the year. You'll love it. New Moon, check it out. They're so damn good.
