Damn. This thing is shaping up nicely. Slayer seems like a weak get though since they were just there a couple years ago and they'll be headlining the black stage for sure. :/
Agreed, though i've never seen them, and at this point a festival is probably the only time I would. Not a lot HOLY SHIT names, but a lot of very exciting and good stuff nonetheless.
Red River Noise tweeted Black Flag, but I think they fucked up and it's just a reiteration of Flag being there.
Lupe Fiasco (weird)
70+ more bands to be revealed
Someone tweeted that media is going to be allowed to post the full line up at 10:30pm Texas time, and to keep an eye out on Pitchfork in 15 minutes!
The Locust?! Those weirdos still around?
Eric Prydz: EP/IC: 11/29 @ Aragon Ballroom
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
I'm also surprised about the absence of Baroness. I have to say that my mind isn't totally blown, but i am very, very happy with this line up. A lot of FYF overlap, but that's pretty usual, and plenty of bands I wouldn't mind seeing twice.
Color me impressed. Can't wait!
Disclosure - 1/31 - Stubb's
Neutral Milk Hotel - 2/17 - Moody Theater
Four Tet - 3/1 - The Mohawk
SXSW - 3/7 - 3/16
Austin Psych Fest - 5/2 - 5/4 - Carson Creek Ranch
I'm not a Lupe Fiasco fan, but I saw him do a guest spot at a Robert Glasper Experiment show, and damn was his flow perfect. He did a freestyle too which was pretty cool as well.
Pan-American, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Ken Camden, Tim Hecker - Loscil, Stars of the Lid - Andrew Bird - Chris Thile - Laurie Anderson w/ Kronos Quartet - Coachella 2014 W1 - Chick Corea/Bela Fleck - Philip Glass Ensemble - Philip Glass
Black Stage is insane with Melt Banana, The Locust (who I'm sure will be playing here soon), Slayer, Judge, Quicksand, Descendents, Thee Oh Sees, The Men and etc!
Television's only US date is pretty impressive as well
Lineup is solid. Not happy that Slayer is playing again so soon but there is more than enough to see all 3 days.
FYI flights (at least from L.A.) are already looking pretty good pricewise.
I know we'll get some more names added. I'm thinking a headliner for Orange and Blue respectively. I don't see Cut Copy or Simian Mobile Disco closing down their stages to be honest.
MIA and Snoop Dogg are both bigg enough to close those stages at FFF.
Apparently there is a new Bodycount album coming out this year. i'll bet that's actually a fun(ny) set
