Do Braids normally have a killer light show? They played in near darkness when I saw them last year at the Casbah, but they were the opener.
Honestly, most of the people who bought 3-day passes will probably go to ATP anywhere in the country, given how eclectic the lineup is
EDIT: But part of ATP to me is that bands not big enough to have a killer light show can get to play around with one on a decked-out stage
EDIT2: Like, Apse probably doesn't have that great of a light setup normally.. But in 2010 they were awesome and part of the reason was that ATP gave them the ability to add that to their show

I would lose my shit if they moved it to Austin (in a good way, obviously).
The Pac Northwest probably has a few old ski areas that would have large enough halls to host that amount of acts, an hotels to hold everyone to boot. And with the droughts and economic downturn, I know that lots of small ski towns are hurting. They'd probably welcome something like ATP.
They should have it somewhere that isn't already over-saturated with festivals but would be a good remote setting for a "family holiday" type thing, which seems to be the original intent for the UK ones. Maybe upstate Michigan or something like that?
The Timberline was only used for the exterior shots. But yes, please bring it directly to me.

I heard nothing but good things about the Matador 21, so I'm game
Matador 21 was good in a surreal way; indie record label having an exclusive party at a swank Vegas casino-hotel. The feel was further away from Kutschers than Asbury Park was: even in the main hotel most of the people were not there for the music festival.
That being said taking over a non-swank casino-hotel might work very differently and be very fun.
IBYM Japan was finally cancelled, with mention of a 2013 event TBA.. I heard a rumor they were thinking of doing a legit ATP there
Apply that logic to ATP America and you have the same conundrum, I guess. That being said, rumors fly freely so I am taking it with a grain of salt
will there be an I'll Be Your Mirror or another sort of ATP event in NYC this year? Last year was a blast, hopefully you guys will do it again!

Wait, are they saying there won't be an ATP event at all in the U.S. this year, or just not one in NYC like last year?
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.
I feel pretty sad about this. Guess we're gonna have to finally take the plunge for a British isles event.
I'm a reasonable man, get off my case....
bummer. i went in 2009 at kutsher's and 2011 in asbury park. was really hoping they could lock down a good spot (or go back to kutsher's) and get this thing going.. too bad.
Bring back ATP Los Angeles
