This is why ATP is a top notch festival These set times are insane: http://www.atpfestival.com/events/at...ayingtimes.php

Yesterday morning we were given the very unfortunate news that Swans would have to postpone their ATP Iceland performance due to Illness.

All of us here at ATP wish Michael Gira a speedy recovery. For now the show must go on, so we are very pleased to announce that Spiritualized Acoustic Mainline have been added to the ATP Iceland 2014 lineup.

Spiritualized Acoustic Mainline is J Spaceman accompanied by Amiina Strings, Icelandic Singers and Spiritualized guitarist Tony Foster on Fender Rhodes.

Spiritualized Acoustic Mainline will be performing in Andrews Theatre on Thursday 10th July at 9:45pm. Updated playing times can be found here

I'm considering going to Iceland next year for ATP, since it doesn't look like it'll come back to the states anytime soon.

I believe sonofhal has gone to the Iceland festival before and loved it.

Giving money to ATP at the moment is a bit of a gamble. I know so many people who are holding off on buying Jabberwocky tickets as they are scared of losing their cash. BTW I haven't been to the ATP Iceland (only to Iceland Airwaves).

So did I, sans the camping. Next year's gonna be the year.

I'm interested in maybe going next year if it happens and the lineup is anything close as it has been in the past.

$80 for a three day pass is pretty darn cheap.

With about a year to plan and such cheap tickets, I couldn't resist (albeit the travel will be expensive). I'm hoping the lineup will be a lot like the previous Bowlie festivals and lean toward the indie pop.

Jabberwocky is cancelled! ATP Iceland 2015 is still a go according to their site.

Wow. That lineup and that price should have sold tickets. Sad for everyone that was flying out for it.

This recent track record for sure is going to make people never want to even consider going to an ATP event again. I am sure ticket sales were poor because people were concerned something like this would happen.

If their twitter feed is to be believed, ticket sales were doing alright:

Weekend to #jabberwocky2014 are almost SOLD OUT! Less than 200 left. Day tickets only after these sell. Book now at: bit.ly/1zmzykO—

This is in their official statement, from their website, that mahhhc posted:

"We have put everything into promoting Jabberwocky, and despite healthy ticket sales; all our efforts could not take those sales to the point that we needed to finally stage the event. Over the past month and all the way up until this moment we have tried every possible course of action to follow through in delivering Jabberwocky to you, but the position we unfortunately find ourselves in as a result of a succession of events that have lost money in an increasingly aggressive festival market, means we are no longer able to do so."

ATP's PR has always been pretty shitty it seems (or nonexistent).

I wonder how wide of a margin there was between almost selling out weekend tickets and potential financial ruin. The day ticket sales must have been seriously off the mark to kill the whole festival.
I've loved the ATP events I've been to in the past but there's not much to convince me that planning a trip to Iceland next year based around ATP is a good idea.

ATP say contact ticket agency for refunds. Ticket agency says contact ATP. I say fuck Barry Hogan!

I'm giving Iceland second thoughts. They've had 2 (I assume) successful fests there the past 2 years, but I don't want hear about a cancellation the week of and be stuck with non-refundable airfare and lodging.

    Unless you purchased refundable airfare.

It's probably isn't sound to plan to travel for ATP at this point, though. Unless you happen to want to travel to that place anyway. Iceland seems like a pretty cool place.

If I were to go to Iceland, I would probably try to go for Iceland Airwaves.
