they just cut ties with butlins, maybe cutting ties with asbury too? if so, where is left to go to?

We already knew they cut ties with Butlins, it was announced when they moved to Camber Sands... If I had to guess it was because they couldn't give money to Butlins during the financial issues and Butlins was tired of throwing Big 90s Weekenders together. Asbury Park is safe, I'm sure
Also, sigh @ BV for stirring the pot
So, all one of them? Or do you think he's including the one that hasn't happened yet?Originally Posted by a Brooklynvegan commenter

i don't see how that could be possible. i mean they haven't even really made any money yet right?
Lightning Bolt confirmed for Friday:

Sweet. Good catch.
Excellent.
Brad you are the jedi master of sleuthing.
Pass.
Good find, though.
Gang Gang Dance added a show in Brooklyn that Friday, as well.

lol @ Lightning Bolt's tour saying the Paramount
I fucking hope
it seems like they'd make the most sense at Asbury Lanes.
also D'Angelo is going on tour
6/22 - Father John Misty/White Fence - Glass House (?)
6/26 - Tricky - El Rey (?)
6/29 - Twin Shadow - Fonda (?)
7/06 - Lee Burridge, et al. - Dilettante
7/12 - Black Flag - Observatory
last.fm, if you care
Twitter, if you dare
They'd make the most sense there but the line would be re-fucking-diculous
in regards to the ushers I was thinking the same thing. I think after Swans they'll never let another electric guitar on that stage lol
so I was reading the DiS thread regarding this issue. the journalist lady "cat_race" has made some posts today about instead of asking ATP about the lineup she has gone to contacting the bands themselves
i guess i just feel like a little more communication wouldn't go amiss. obviously i have a vested interest in IBYM so that's where my attention has been. there was supposed to be an announcement on new acts for the line up about a month ago now and still nothing, it is pretty par for the course i suppose. i've taken to just messaging bands to ask if they will be playing there. i think i got a kind of obtuse 'yes' from tall firs
Friday headliner! Can't wait to see him on Fallon tonight (will the Roots back him up?)....
73 days to go
So I'm officially out, having now booked two other trips for the fall. I just couldn't wait any longer to see who they booked, or whether the festival even goes down as planned. I feel somewhat sad about it - I've been to all four NY/NJ fests, flying in from the west coast for each one. Despite spending loads of money on travel/lodging/tickets/etc, I always came home feeling it was well worth it, even last year, when Asbury came up well short of Kutsher's (for me) as a venue. It leaves me wondering: If ATP can't even entice a diehard loyalist who knows exactly how good their U.S. festivals can be, what chance do they really have of making things work here?
sigh ... kills me to have to say this, but i'm officially out, as well. majorly bummed, having been to all the NY/NJ fests and enjoyed them all. but with so much missing in the line-up and just a general sense of unease about the whole event, i have to focus my funds elsewhere. i know they said everything is moving forward as planned, but i'm really having a hard time seeing how this can even be possible financially. we're closing on in on two months to the event and there are barely any details on an expensive, three day festival. how do they expect to sell enough tickets leading up the event? perhaps they have a plan (or a killer line up), but i've unfortunately waited as long as i possible can. sucks.
i feel for people that "have" to travel for this.
"Jamie Summers ?@jamie_summers
anyone out there able to recommend a good reliable Paypal alternative?"
people on the DiS board are getting their paypal transactions for Shellac denied and being asked to deposit their cash directly into Barry Hogan's bank account - then that tweet showed up.
Jamie explained the situation only after people started going nuts. These guys sure do like it rough, huh

Yeah, I'm almost 100% on the not going train now. Financially it's just no longer a possibility unless I somehow hit that sweet legal job in the next month. And, lets be honest, ATP is really squandering the goodwill that they've had.
bmack you don't get the option to not go
As a matter of fact I have a ticket for you if you actually get out here
I don't want to have to decide to not go, as ATP has been on my list for years, but these guys are really annoying me. It's a little ridiculous not to have seen any information regarding lodging at this point.
HHW In all fairness, lodging shouldn't really be a hot topic for most people since it sold out to members before going on public sale last year. That being said, I feel the same way that it's annoying that I can't even put a deposit on my room down because people are depending on me, and basing their travel plans on my ability to get one - and I can't tell them to 100% pull the trigger until I know everything is secure
