Tomahawk? Pretty please with a cherry on top.
oh man, yes please.
friday is the day right? right???? RIGHT???
Probably monday. Commence waiting for ''we are sorry, we had issues with booking aphex twin, so somebody else is going to give us a ring by monday 1st of july, and we'll let you know who it is and post it''
So glad I'm not traveling far for this.. We're within 3 months of the date and don't even have rooms
EDIT: but it still kind of sucks because I fill my room with people who do travel, so I'm not even sure who still plans on coming and who doesn't

this is such bullshit.
You guys need to chill out, go smoke a joint or something
Jamie is the new Sean Carlson, or something
And you guys wonder why Jamie doesn't post here anymore
i think it's fair to be a little irritated at this point. it's less than three months away. and 50% of the line-up isn't announced. people travel great distances for this festival and plans need to be made. we are still waiting on hotel information, and there have been a number of "announcement coming" and then "just kidding" incidents.
this is not a cheap festival, but typically people don't mind paying for it (without a full line-up, mind you) because ATP has a reputation for quality - both musically and operationally. they run a great festival. but you have to admit, this is really not like them. there is just a real lack of communication and if you look around on the internet (not just on these boards), people are getting ticked off.
i love ATP, but they are handling this one really badly.
I'd be pretty pumped if the Lightning Bolt speculation is true
what're the odds we get this monday morning? less than 0%
Sorry guys, I told ATP to hold off on announcing anything until I could get my school stuff sorted so I wouldn't miss out on tickets and hotel accommodation. But don't worry, I should have everything pinned down within the next couple months.
At this point, I'm more excited for the return of Breaking Bad.....
They haven't raised their prices from $199 so I'm guessing the tickets aren't selling too well either....
ps as for hotel accommodation too, I think there aren't enough people buying 3 day passes so they're waiting to sell more hence why no announcement regarding this situation!
not gonna sell anything if they keep the additional band lineup to themselves
Lightning Bolt just announced more dates and ATP is still free so I'm guessing they'll be the Friday headliner.. Interesting, as I think they were the friday headliner in 08..
glad they went back to no definitive announcement announcement
All Tomorrow's Parties Hi Jeffrey, unfortunately some delays - apologies for giving false hope of the announcement the other week - we are working as fast as we can on it!

they weren't really a headliner. they just played last... and that was largely driven by their desire to perform in the round.
Yes, Lightning Bolt played last that year, but it didn't seem like they were considered the Saturday "headliner," in a top-billing sense. I'd say Shellac was the de facto headliner (this was before they became the fest's every-year "house band").
Regardless, that might be my favorite ATP US day ever. So much great music.
Edit: wmgaretjax beat me to it.
exactly. and that's what makes me nervous. with every passing week, the window for selling tickets gets smaller. the window for people to make travel arrangements, take time off from work, or whatever the case may be - it gets smaller.
so why not just announce what you know and do another announcement when the "delays" get ironed out? even a small announcement might generate ticket sales. it doesn't make any sense, unless there is a bigger issue at hand.
maybe they have something totally amazing lined up and are confident that once they announce and make a big push, tickets sales will skyrocket? that seems doubtful though.
No matter what they announce, it probably won't meet the board's expectations
Aww, C'mon dude, you know tons of us have been going for years. Some people might be disappointed, but most of us are frustrated because this is starting to have too many shades of recent ATPs that were rescheduled or cancelled. In the previous four years I've never felt like they've led us along without dropping ANYTHING, or that they were operating unprofessionally. That's definitely how I feel right now, with the complete lack of info regarding lodging, new acts, individual day sales, transportation, food vendors, extra-curricular activities, ANYTHING. It seems like I bought my ticket for a different festival based upon the difference in interaction. Makes me concerned for the festival itself, to be honest.
Yes, all my joking above aside, I have tremendous respect for ATP and I'm sure that if they are not announcing things, then they have a very good reason. I have had such a wonderful time at past ATPs, and so my expectations are very high, but ATP has yet to disappoint.
As bmack notes, I'm mostly just concerned that this delay could possibly mean a rescheduled or canceled festival.
it's all just frustration. the way the line up is shaping for this one has me extremely excited already. i just wanna know where i'm gonna sleep goddamn it
