*based upon tedious fact checking.
whatThe second set, however, will be unlike any in the 20-year history of the Mountain Goats—all covers, possibly all on Fletcher’s beautiful grand piano, all by himself. A lifelong metal fan and longtime columnist for the extreme music magazine Decibel, Darnielle says he plans to spend a portion of the summer arranging and learning covers of heavy metal songs. “The tentative title for this set,” Darnielle says, “is ‘Nearer My Hateful Mankind Plague to Thee,’ but titles are subject to change.
Could we please get Jesus & Mary Chain? I have been dying to see them since Coachella 07. Also from that list: Liars, Sunn O))), Baroness, Valient Thorr, Vattnet Viskar, Atlas Moth, Pallbearer, Danny Brown, Colin Stetson (again), and C.o.C. Any 2 or 3 of these bands would make me not ask for anything more.
jeez i might just go to that fest also
oh 14 clubs and 2 nights. still really awesome
Got a presale email from ATP membership this morning
Unfortunately it was for Faith No More in London...
The beginning of that sentence got my heart rate up.
Imagine what a cut-off subject line in my inbox did to me
ATP is putting on a show with Faith No More!!!!!! I just keep setting myself up for disappointment, but holy shit that would be great
faith no more would be an excellent add. they were amazing when i saw them a few years ago in williamsburg.
I'm listening to Sleep to celebrate the holiday. Holy Mountain was awesome and all, but that's not the one for today.
Aaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddd, Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooollllllllllllllllyyyyyy yyyyyyyy Sssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttt tttttttttttt, is it epic.
I thought about putting Dopesmoker on earlier in celebration, but I forgot. Didn't even smoke that much.
Im flying out to seattle for two nights of sleep shows first week of june. Soo excited for that.
\m/
That reminds me, who here lives in seattle and wouldn't mind me crashing on their floor for two nights?
ATP is having some issues with Faith No More tickets getting scalped.. Does anyone remember that dopey group of 3 scalpers infront on Convention Hall?
>The Afghan Whigs are pleased to announce they will be performing at Terminal 5 in New York City on October 5th with special guests Eagles Of Death Metal.
One less (big) reason for New Yorkers to go to ATP, which can't be good for ATP.
Would have been great if it had happened after they announced more acts (Friday?) so folks on the fence might have committed.
I had a really weird night of ATP dreams last night. They changed the name of the festival, someone played a guitar made out of a roll of carpet, my parents were there, there was a different auditorium and just general weirdness. I guess my mind is just filling in the blanks due to lack of updates.
London adds
El-P, The Music Of Can, Umberto, Blanck Mass & A Storm Of Light
Death Grips cancel tour, maybe?
Interesting but I imagine the ATPNJ date would be fine since it's so far out. The last tour date on this run was 7/1, atp is 9/23
Oh, but IBYM London... idk
Probably safe to assume no updates until after IBYM London, right?
That's what I was thinking, too.
