Whoops didn't know that Pitchfork gave his other albums BNM as well! What I was trying to say with 9.1 rating on his latest 2xlp is that NYC show brought d-bag'ish crowd which made it harder to enjoy than it should have been but M83 put on a good show.
One of the biggest things that ruins concerts nowadays (esp in NY) is everyone holding up their phones and taking shitty blurry photos while obscuring my view of the show.
They are so focused on taking a shitty blurry camera phone photo that they aren't even paying any attention to the show that they paid to see, and will leave the show with a wonderful memento: a shitty blurry photo of the concert you weren't paying attention to.
Anyway I really don't think M83 will ever play at ATP but if he does, I'm really interested to hear more stuff from Dead Cities & Before the Dawn...
Speaking of Pitchfork, they posted this today...my fav has to be #9

People have been saying Louis CK should be on Comedy for years now..
I couldn't care less about the camera stuff, maybe it's because I'm tall
ATP is opening up membership again.
http://www.atpfestival.com/membership.php
So, is this of any benefit to us stateside folks?
Oh man, I sort of want a membership just for the sake of having one, but I can't justify $39 for basically:
- ATP USB flash drive key with unique membership number (worth £15)
- 2 free CDs from ATP Recordings catalogue (worth £20)
- Access to members areas on ATP website (coming soon)
- Access to special members only sales at the ATP shop
- Eligibility for special members only competitions
Given that it seems like none of the other benefits apply for long-distance members.
I got it because I support ATP 2 years ago.. The USB drive is cool but yeah pre-sales are really the only thing you get out of it in America.. It really made me want to move to London though, I could have gotten +1s to a ton of great shows... Godspeed was one of them. And the gold membership is a steal.
Here's the USB key
The CDs I got were pretty good too.. Built to Spill, Deerhoof, and Alexander Tucker..
They have yet to do the 'members only' stuff so idk what's up with it
Icemouse, you're going to badmouth Joe Grushecky and the House City Rockers? What's next? Donnie Iris? Is nothing sacred?
This is a lot of worrying for a non-confirmed line up.
Is this your first visit to a ATP thread Ardentbiscuit? We have about 9 more months of worrying for a non-confirmed lineup on tap here. It's what we/ATP do.
I've seen the ATP threads from afar but I never actually looked at them before until now because I'm probably going to this.
Venturing into uncharted threads here is always terrifying and I love posting because I always say the wrong thing.
it looks that way.
Oh well, I'm bound to make mistakes on here. I've given up trying, I just post whatever now.
i want biscuits now

at the very absolute least - this announcement has instigated my curiosity in TAWs.... and for that i'm very grateful. love dulli's snaky charm
What was the name of the cover the Pop Group played during their set? Something like elevators on fire or something similar? It could possibly have been their own song, too. Just can't remember
I'd love to find a bootleg of that set.
Ah yes. I'm was confusing the cover with the performance of Thief of Fire
Tiffany and I were listening to favorite Afghan Whigs covers - Band of Gold and Come See About Me are new favorites - and she mentioned "the one from Jesus Christ Superstar" and I had no idea what she was talking about. Even though I have had Congregation for quite some time... I never realized that The Temple was not their song.
I am a little pissed that I found out this way because a much better setting would've been in the Neil Simon theater seeing the new Broadway production. "The iron bars, militaristic setting and multi-level sets were expected since it is Des but it was pretty weird that they did that Afghan Whigs song" will now not be a thing I say in post-show discussions.
I'm just hoping my friend keeps to her word and lets me stay at her house she owns on the shore right there. She's only there in summer anyway.
Early january... just gotta wait for the announcement!
