They said they were going to take as much feedback as possible into account, so hopefully that means the berkeley will see some real use

So Shellac should be playing on Friday and Sunday, right?
*based upon tedious fact checking.
I'm guessing Friday, wouldn't be surprised at another secret lanes show though
I don't know what i'll do with myself if I can't nuzzle up with Drinkey again at night.![]()
I'm also down for a mature roomshare. I realize i'm saying this as the person who stocked our room with booze, did 3 cartwheels near the elevators, got high in the stairwell and carried around cocktail bottles of vodka with me all weekend for drinking in public and avoiding paying for booze in the venues. I promise i'm well behaved though and i'm only an embarrassment to myself.![]()
Listening to Gentleman currently. Digging it so far. These guys were influenced by soul music? Not really hearing it...
EDIT* Yeah, this album is rad.

I had a such a great time in 2011 that I'll plan to go next time. This, Primavera, Coachella, and Sled Island seem to be my 2012 festivals.
Still hoping for something like Anthony Bourdain to be a guest food curator or something
But they'll have him stand outside next to the other food vendors....
I wouldn't be opposed to this, but I ate pretty well without him.
I'm a reasonable man, get off my case....
Anthony Bourdain....pfft. That's a good one. I'd rather them find a way to get the food vendors they've already got on board to be placed inside the venue. Let's start there, please.
(but, while we're in "you're dreaming" mode...maybe they can also resurrect Jeff Buckley for 2012. C'mon Barry, make it happen)
Those poor food vendors. I will be surprised if any of them come back. I can't imagine they did much business.
I think Asia Dog will be back... They did enough good business for the 3 years that I imagine promised improvements will draw them
Are they really needed? The area has decent enough food, even inside the convention center. It seemed unnecessary.
Also count me in as being furious at The Empress for nearly tripling their rates. Sure, as someone wrote, they are (of course) allowed to do that. But I am then allowed to trash them on Yelp, Tripadvisor & Google Places in response. And, of course, I'll stay somewhere else.
I do like the idea of having some excellent vendors that are good for quick, relatively healthy meals when you're running between sets. There weren't really many options available for that, were there? I ended up getting coffee and foccacia from that bakery place in the arcade between the Convention Hall and the Paramount because it seemed like it would be the quickest, but they had more dessert stuff than actual meal stuff.
It was nice to have more than just the typical stuff they had at the Convention Hall. I was pissed the pizza spot outside was soooo freaking slow to make a pizza that I could not even wait to buy one due to the band schedule. LUCKILY Asbury Lanes had the cure for late night food. On, and popcorn was nice.
I don't know if they're needed but yeah, I'd definitely rather have asia dog or pizza moto than the generic food scattered about surrounding blocks of the festival grounds. They had the aqua bar and the burger place inside which were both mediocre, the wonderbar(didn't eat there) and the Adriatic and the lanes(And some boardwalk food, and McCloones). Lines seemed long at most of them too. I think we'd feel it if the vendors didn't come.
I ate at the vendors quite often because a) they food was good and b) I felt bad for their bad luck with the weather.

I bet the vendors would have gotten more business if they had parked right out front of Asbury Lanes and sold to the lines of people waiting to get in.
True, but that would have only been useful for Cults/Shellac and the end of the night. The rest of the time there were little to no lines.

If ATP can't make the whole place drink-friendly, I'd rather not cage the food area in for drinks like they did... But they probably hoped the bar would make a bit more money. Really it's going to be tough to take people away from the beach for little reason, so they need for find a way to set up on the boardwalk...
Afghan Wigs are at Primavera
Just got my membership USB Key today! It's filled with photo montages, don't look back wallpaper and live recording of Broken Social Scene from ATP 2008 curated by Explosions in the sky![]()
Just got mine too, it's so sweet
The Don't Look Back wallpaper was seriously about 5 minutes of me going "Aw, I didn't know they did that one! Aw, I didn't know they did that one! Aw, I didn't know they did that one!"
When is this line up expected?
initial announcement some time in January.

Looks like I'm going to this!
Initial lineup in January, final lineup in late August probably...
