    I traded in a bunch of my DVDs, which I've been digitizing... I'm not keeping physical copies of some of the films I'm not that interested in any more...

    So I got these LPs:
    Yellow Swans - Demos (press of 500)
    Belong - Colorless Record (St. Ives press of 300, each one handmade by the artists and really fucking gorgeous)
    DNA - On DNA (press of 2000)
    Lithops - Mound Magnet
    Fennesz - Black Sea

    I also got the Campfire Songs CD by Animal Collective (went out of print recently, and I never grabbed it)...

    DNA on DNA is only 2000 press? I bought that about 4 years ago, and I still see them around. Poor DNA, nobody wants their music I guess.

    I don't normally do that... I just got excited because I picked up the Belong and Yellow Swans used and was digging around for more info (particularly on the yellow swans record, which I hadn't heard before).

    Hahaha, that is a lot of the stuff I bought the past two years. Goldfrapp and Interpol were new. Pretty good haul.

    I then went to Amoeba to finish my Xmas shopping. Apparently there's a new Buddha Machine, with more loops and a pitch shifter. it's pretty great.

    That's a fantastic haul, but I'd like to know if you've sat down with the 2 Replacement's CD's you bought or if you were already familiar with them? They're certainly more "mature" than their previous releases.

    Black Sea is my all-time favorite XTC release. I guess the new version of the CD adds like 3 or four songs.

    And Sugar Mountain is quite good, but I don't know if it's as good as Massey Hall...strong score on the Mott as well. You're making me feel as though I need to go make some ill-advised purchases as well!

    I just ordered the Paw Tracks christmas 7" (Dave Porter, Kria Bekken, and Antony share a track)... I also snagged a Black Dice and Ariel Pink 7"...

    I am going to listen to those Replacements records when I drive home in a couple of days. I have only read about them. I got them through work, so if I dislike them (which won't happen...even a not great Replacements record won't suck), they were free.

    As are Big Country. I found that same album, still shrinkwrapped, for $1.90. There is clearly not enough appreciation for guitars that sound like bagpipes.

    I just bought Little Big Music from the Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra on iTunes. It's fun and I think this should open up the Coachella Stage on one of the days.

    Von Bondies - Lack of Communication

    Starling Electric - Clouded Staircase

    Say what you want about the Von Bondies, but Lack of Communication rocks very hard.
