I wonder why Amoeba didn't have a single copy of The Knife - Silent Shout
I need to get the one with the dvd.
Anyway, has anyone here happened to have seen a Pulp album on vinyl anywhere in the LA area lately? I talked to some people at Amoeba and they said nothing has come in recently, but when it does, it goes quick, and, no, they won't put aside anything for anyone except friends.
I wish I wasn't so obsessed with opening everything and looking at the artwork and such. I just saw a sealed vinyl copy of A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms for over $200 on ebay. I got mine at amoeba over 5 years ago for $15. I didn't have a record player in California at the time and when I finally got one, I was tired of the album, so I have never listened to it on vinyl, yet it's open, lulz.
Apparently Muse - Absolution is expensive on vinyl now. Mine is opened, but signed.

yup.
Pioneering U.K. label Ninja Tune has never rested on its laurels, despite introducing to the world name-brand dance acts like Mr. Scruff, Kid Koala, Cinematic Orchestra, and Roots Manuva. Those acts, plus some 30 others, comprise the forthcoming 50-track three-disc collection, You Don’t Know: Ninja Cuts, available on our shores June 10.
The fifth Ninja Cuts collection in the label’s illustrious 18-year history, the collection features nine unreleased tunes by Coldcut, the aforementioned Mr. Scruff, alongside new names on the roster, such as Baltimore’s The Death Set, Montreal’s Ghislain Porier, and London’s The Bug. Styles from hip-hop and turntablism to downtempo and experimental indie-rock showcase a label known for its consistency and reliable output. And the name is fitting. After all, most know Ninja for artists like Amon Tobin or Bonobo. But Wiley, Durrty Goodz, and The Long Lost? That’s just Ninja being Ninja–hard to categorize, but dope.

For your health
I got Paul Oakenfold's greatest hits and remixes for free...
I swear to god this better not suck.
I picked up the new MMJ, Lil Wayne, and Fratellis CD's.
I bought Portishead - Third on vinyl today for the third time having already returned it twice to Amazon. Each copy including this one has a crease on the inside of the gatefold and the records are warped.
anyone else experiencing this problem? if you have a nice Third LP, please let me know where you bought it.

It is not their best Jared, but it has its moments. They do soul pretty well.
Last two record store trips yielded the following:

My Morning Jacket - Chocolate and Ice
CDs:
Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies
Coldplay - Viva La Vida
My Morning Jacket / Songs: Ohia split
My Morning Jacket - Z
My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges
Portishead - Third
Ride - Going Blank Again (remastered/expanded)
Sigur Ros - new album with long title
Uncle Tupelo - No Depression (remastered/expanded)
Went to Amoeba Hollywood yesterday and lost most of my self control.
CD's:
Fleet Foxes - Sun Giant EP
Material Issue - Destination Universe
Shocking Pinks - Shocking Pinks
Sloan - One Chord to Another
The Stratford 4 - Love & Distortion
Suede - Dog Man Star
Paul Weller - Wild Wood
LP's:
The Bangles - All Over The Place
Let's Active- Every Dog Has His Day
Prince - Dirty Mind

FINALLY! Epic score!
Now I need to get Different Class and This Is Hardcore. The only way I'll get those without spending $75-200 each is go work at Amoeba and grab them when they come in. But then I'd have to fight with the employees that already hog them all and don't ever give the customers a chance to buy them.

It's a horrible addiction.
I guess it trumped my World of Warcraft addiction. Subscription ran out a week ago and I still haven't been able to renew it. Well, I guess I could've yesterday, but...
This is exactly why I stay away from serious drugs. I become addicted and overindulge in everything remotely enjoyable.
