ok, i'll let you know. I like what I see. They have a Black Keys album I need, a lot of MMJ. So it looks like it might be worth it.

Sushov, if you need another testimonial, I'll back up Luckyface on emusic's quality. I think they've got an incredibly deep catalog. Just when I think I've found everything on there I'd ever want, I stumble across something else. I've been a member for a couple years, and have actually bumped up my subscription to 200 downloads a month. They're missing some key independent labels (Sub Pop, for one), but the site is tough to beat for quality and value. Do it.

emusic is pretty awesome. however, eventually it or itunes is going to have to follow suit with Zune and offer unlimited downloads for a set rate (20-25 seems reasonable to me). Itunes has been trying to do this (and allow you to keep the songs afterwards, unlike Zune) and it's the way to go. I'll start paying for all of my MP3s again if that's the case. Right now I buy about 10% of my music on LP, maybe another 20% on emusic. and the rest for free (largely because it's stuff I only want to listen to on a rare occasion). A reasonable unlimited download service would change that.

Yesterday I splurged. This'll have to be it for me until I get the new one from the Kills when they come to town in a couple weeks.

Nina Nastasia, "Dogs" (LP, Touch & Go reissue), at the show last night (review forthcoming)

    and the real trick,

Portishead, Thirds, limited edition. Which also came with a shirt, which I have been kicking myself for not buying at Coachella.

i honestly do not buy a lot of music so my latest acquisition would be
Third-Portishead. I didn't buy it at Coachella because I had no where to put it and didn't want to come back to Virgin tent later. at any rate..........................I love it!!!!!! even more so because I got to see them perform a lot of it live.

i haven't bought it, but i've heard it. very dense production. kind of a downer and tense, but it ends well. not their best work, but still a pretty good album.

I ordered this a couple weeks ago, but it's the most recent purchase:

    Number 105/1000, baby!

Oh yeah, there's another one. I scored a jukebox record of Pulp - A Little Soul/COCAINE SOCIALISM on ebay, but I don't know if it's arrived since it shipped to an east coast address.

i'm currently scheduled to stop buying albums for the time being(no job, trying to get a new one), but the new My Morning Jacket just might force me to throw out some cash.

Went to Target today to finally pick up Cat Power's Jukebox. Also found Sia's some people have REAL problems and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon for $10 apiece and couldn't resist the bargain. $10 for a CD is about the only amount I'm willing to pay for a CD nowadays. Anything more and it better be for an artist I'm absolutely in love with (such as Portishead's Third and... well, that's the only example from this year).

Target may have a small selection, but their Indie Artists CD's are usually 10 bucks. I used to work there, and that is how i've known about it for a long time.
