The picture you sent me of Piper looks like it's probably the same press that I have. The quality is super good on it.

I'm jealous of the Howlin' Wolf, Fugs and Incredible String Band records. And The Big Pink, one that I am always looking for and never find for a decent price.

Oh really? Well, Big Pink is your's, man. Buy me a good glass of beer and we're square. It has some marks but, hey, it's original.

And have you listened to Blue Cheer? It's like proto-stoner metal. Loving it.

I remember buying that Blue Cheer record for $9.99 circa 2005. The reissue, though. Before vinyl was cool again. Such a great record. Nice score in general!

I grabbed Vincebus Eruptum for $3, OP, last time I was in LA. That album is so awesome.

You should come with us to Television! Or you (and Greg) should come see SubRosa at the Oakland Metro Opera on November 4th. I'll be at both of those.

Also, Oakland Metro is by the Night Light and Beer Revolution, so that is also an option.

Piper is a great pick up. After some internal debating I decided to pick up the Pink Floyd Pop Market vinyl package they put up on Saturday. The Wall, Dark Side of the moon and Wish You Were Here on 180 gram for $90 shipped. Not a huge bargain but I needed The Wall and Dark Side. I have Wish You Were Here but the jacket is mangled and it's my favorite floyd record next to Animals.

Speaking of Animals I got a very nice original pressing off of Ebay for about $25. I also have Meddle, Obscured by Clouds, The Final Cut, Collection of Great Dance Songs and Momentary Lapse of Reason.

I also have the Shine On CD Box Set which was gifted to me (used). That sums up my Floyd collection.

I only still need to pick up Animals now. I have Piper, Meddle, DSOTM, Wish You Were Here, & the Wall.

And are any of you experimental/avant-garde listening folks familiar with the album "Girl in the Chair" by Roots of Madness? A really fucking weird album of shortwave radio sounds, slimy slide guitar and all kinds of musique concrete type stuff recorded in some kid's living room in San Jose in the late 60s. Really weird, going for $100 on discogs.

NOt at all. Keep it out so I can check it out when I'm there.

On the Floyd trip, I have Piper, Atom heart Mother, Meddle, Obscured by Clouds, DSoTM, WYWH, Animals and The Wall. I still really want Saucerful, Ummagumma, Relics and More.

Will do. It's pretty out there but kind of cool. Especially considering these weren't art students in NY or London, they were just a bunch of weird teenagers from San Jose. They played only one official gig and only pressed 500 copies of this record in 1971.

EDIT: We'll definitely have to, ah, medicate ourselves prior to listening.

I can tentatively agree to that. Damn interviews make it somewhat tough, but I can sweat it out.

Holy Ghost was great, the crowd was way into it. Basically a much less drunk version of Disclosure the week before (in terms of dancing/crowd control/politeness).

I've only seen them at festival settings, glad I finally saw them at a smaller venue.

    and to stay on topic

Surfer Blood - Pythons LP (Rhino had it on sale for 13.99, thought that was a bargain)

Oh right. Cardio & b vitamins are your friends. Also, the stuff is alcohol soluble, so flooding your bloodstream with strong liquor might help as well ...

I'm in for Foals and Nirvana. Possibly QOTSA and Flaming Lips, we'll see how they are pricewise closer to Black Friday.

I'm definitely in for the Dead and the Stones. The Dylan triple-LP looks kind of cool, I'm buying depending on price & tracklist.
