Yes, yes, yes!!! and if anyone isn't at OSL, Grizzly Bear or Foals, and in the LA area, you should go see them at the Troubadour with me on Friday.

Good buy. Once Agalloch LPs are on the market for a while, they tend to get expensive.

Yeah. I'm all the more stoked that it wasn't the picture disc reissue, since I hate the sound quality of picture discs. I mean, it's still on clear vinyl (Profound Lore must not want the record to last) but at least it's better than paper fucking up the quality. I cannot wait for this one to show up.

(thanks, buddy! I've already listened to it twice. Forgot how great that album is...)

I don't. I will definitely get it though. Hopefully they have an OJC reissue of it, although I'm seeing less and less of those now. Someone was telling me they've kind of stopped doing them, which is a huge bummer.

    It is indeed.

Greg and Bryan, you guys should both check out the S.E. Rogie record...it's a type of Sierra Leone folk music called "Palm Wine" -- really relaxed, gentle stuff.

Bryan, you should check out the His Electro Blue Voice record. It SLAYS. You'll be into it if you like METZ, but they approach things a bit differently. It's more shoegazey.

I picked up a represss of Moanin' a couple years ago and I still see them floating around Amoeba. And great suggestion on S.E. Rogie, that's exactly what I'm in the mood for today.

Awesome. Those $9.99 reissues have been a huge, huge part of my jazz education. I really hope they don't disappear.

Glad you like the Rogie stuff. It's perfect lazy Sunday music.

We have a lot of similarities in taste in music, but I think 1-2-3-4 Go! avoids that intersection in our tastes. I could definitely see why you and Greg like it. It's just the first time in a long time I couldn't find anything I wanted in a record store. I will give it a few more tries since I'm now addicted to Homeroom.

On another note, are there any good record stores in the south bay/San Jose area? I'm going to be down there for almost a full week next month for work, and am trying to find ways to pass the time in the evenings. :P

Every friend I've had who's gone to Reykjavik (a surprising number of them, heh) has raved about 12 Tonar. Apparently the listening stations are exceedingly cozy. I really want to check that out "before I die."

I'm still bummed that I only had 30 minutes in Spacehall when I was in Berlin this summer. Still... in 30 minutes, I managed to find ~$300 worth of records I absolutely had to have.

I was surprised to see that 1,2,3,4 Go! had the new Blondes - Swisher album because that seems pretty far out of their wheelhouse.

chia - On the Corner records in Campbell is the most decent one I've been to in the south bay. But I still haven't checked out Knight Sounds or the Analog Room.

That backroom at Spacehall was overwhelming. I think I circled the room for 30 min before I even picked a spot to start digging. Loved how organized it was though.
