The former.
So I was digging in Mill Valley today and came across a first press (promo, actually) of Miami by the Gun Club. I already own this record but it sells for significantly more than what I paid for it and I would be happy to sell it at a discount if anyone on here is interested. PM me for details.
LP:
Aerosmith - Get Your Wings
The Gun Club - Miami
Tommy James & the Shondells - The Best of Tommy James & the Shondells
Jerry Lee Lewis - Live at Third Man Records
The Pogues - Rum, Sodomy & the Lash
R.E.M. - We're Having a Heavenly Time: Recorded live at Page Auditorium
It turned into Ghost + Beckett + Tame Impala - Lonerism. I'm already happy with the purchase, and I think I'm gonna wait to listen to the Ghost album until it arrives. I just know I saw tons of people I trust going nuts over the fact that they're releasing a new album this year, and I want to orient myself.
Nope, we're talking the metal band. I've not yet heard them, but the way they've been described (Mercyful Fate + Watain + Sabbath) was enough to convince me to snag a $15 first press of their first album.
I'm not at all sure what Japanese Ghost is up to at this point. Kurihara has been doing all the second guitar stuff with Boris for so long that he's basically a member of the band, and it makes me wonder if they're going to continue. I'd love to track down Hypnotic Underworlds.
Got some vinyl today at one of Atlanta's better shops:
Elvis Costello & the Attractions: Blood & Chocolate
Duran Duran – Rio
The Godfathers – More Songs About Love and Hate
Japandroids – Celebration Rock
Massive Attack – Blue Lines
A Tribe Called Quest – The Low End Theory
Theres a 2013 reissue of Miami coming out.If I remember correctly january or feburary release.Ill bring a TON of The Gun Club album for when I come up for record club and what not. Also hopefully we get a Kid Congo west coast dates![]()

Picked up The Gun Club - Mother Juno(first pressing) for $20![]()
Some mail just arrived from the esteemed Greghead:
Bruce Springsteen - The River
Duane Allman - An Anthology
Thanks man! Unfortunately the mail lady got here just as I was about to leave to watch the 49ers game, so I won't be able to listen to them until tonight or tomorrow.
Went to Atomic (again) today because they just received a huge collection of rockabilly, hillbilly, western swing, R & B and doo-wop albums; they only have about three bins worth processed so I'll be back in a few days to check it out. I don't know a whole lot about this kind of music, but the guys working there seemed excited about it so if you're into that kind of music it would be worth the trip. From what they had I picked up:
Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley (1986 reissue)
Django Reinhardt / Stephane Grappelli* - The Quintet Of The Hot Club Of France (1936-1937) Django Volume 1
Also picked up:
The Clash - The Clash
Spinal Tap - This Is Spinal Tap
X - Under The Big Black Sun
The English Beat - Special Beat Service
The Blues Brothers- Briefcase Full Of Blues
Black Sparrow Press – Half-Ass Romance (I really have no idea who this band is, but the sleeve is screen printed, hand stamped and hand numbered (29/115), is printed on red vinyl, and had a bunch of cool inserts which seemed hand-made as well)
From a DFA sale:
LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver

Haven't been buying much recently, but I had some store credit at M-Theory and was itching to get something. Glad I went.
Monks - Black Monk Time 2LP
Swans - The Seer 3LP
Bought two seperate collections over the past week... probably around 1,000 records for $150. Mostly 30's - 60's. Also been going to Fingerprints every other weekend.....
anywho, obviously too many records to post. Jazz collection is really coming along... would love to somehow host a 'Record Club' evening, if there were enough people in So. Cal that were interested.
Main reason i came in here.... a while back someone posted a link to site that had a great Pearl Jam bundle. This ring a bell for anyone...? Cant seem to find it.
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (the year of the troll)
- PEARL JAM WHY YOU HATE COACHELLA? -
It was Popmarket, but they do their things as timed deals. It's come up a few times. You should sign up for their email list though, they frequently have good deals on there. They did the Flaming Lips box set recently, which is totally worth the money.
