I managed not to buy records on Black Friday.
Greg, didn't we listen to the Star Wars soundtrack at record club once? (I think Chris brought it). That was surprisingly fun to listen to.

- PEARL JAM WHY YOU HATE COACHELLA? -
Holy cow: someone on r/vinyl posted that Hot Topic is having a "50% off all items" sale online (use promo code: 50OFF4BF) and, coupled with their free shipping for orders over $30, I just picked up all of this for $80:
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine
The Chemical Brothers - Exit Planet Dust
Daft Punk - Homework
The Smiths - Hatful Of Hollow (reissue)
Screaming Females - Ugly
Tool - Undertow
Tool - Lateralus 2xLP Picture Disc
Minor Threat - Self-Titled
They also still had copies of In/Casino/Out on grey/pink splattered vinyl for those who didn't pick it up when it was first released.
5/30 - John Talabot @ Echoplex
6/5 - Parquet Courts @ Echo
6/8 - The Field @ El Rey
6/18 Eleanor Friedberger @ Echo/Mount Kimbie @ Echoplex double-dip
6/28 - Baths @ El Rey
8/24-25 - FYF Fest
9/12 -GY!BE @ Fonda
9/15 - GY!BE @ Belly Up
9/24 - Depeche Mode @ SB Bowl
Yea there are quite a few good deals there. Noticed at least a dozen releases that you'd be hard pressed to find for less, used, even. My resolve to not spend money this week has been broken again and again.
Fuck. The new Titus Andronicus is already sold out.
EDIT: Damn. Collection I, Pretty Hate Machine, Lateralus, In/Casino/Out, Energy, Streetcore, Shields, Book Burner .... Too much stuff, I can't justify all of it.
Well, glad I didn't do the Hot Topic deal. Dropped by Amoeba on my way back from Bishop and picked up:
Scott Walker - the Drift
Leonard Cohen - Various Positions
Edit: These were such steals. The Drift was 14, and it sounded unplayed. The Cohen record was 5, and, other than the outermost grooves, there is not a lick of surface noise. So happy with these.
Damn dealzilla.
Monday i could after soundgarden
CD:
Harry Nilsson - Schmilsson
Never listened to this album before. Excited.
I love Dinosaur Jr. so I'm biased, but I don't think it sounds as horrible as Pitchfork said. This is by no means a well-recorded live album, but you will be into it if you have any experience listening to bootlegs where you can make out everything that is going on but it sounds like it's coming from another room. Some of the performances are blistering, so it is worth it just for that in my opinion.
Which one? The fidelity starts out REALLY bad for the first track but then gets better (relatively speaking.)
Oh, for sure. Yeah, I'm a huge Dino Jr. fan as well so I'll prolly still buy it for the history alone ha
I emailed about this today since it has been over a month since our last update, and got an almost immediate response - good news this time:
"hey Jason - we just received the first box (solid pink) of these this morning! The mixed vinyl apparently takes a bit longer to complete but we are hoping to have all records shipped within the next two weeks, hopefully sooner!"

Well that is good news. Can't wait to finally blast it on vinyl, it sounds so great at a high volume.
Bee Mask When We Were Eating Unripe Pears LP showed up today. Excited to hear it, going to spin in a few minutes.
14 Iced Bears - s/t LP
Pangaea - Hex / Fatalist 12"
The Analogue Cops & Blawan - Cursory EP
TR\\ER & AD\\TD - UC / Multiple Versions 12"
Shed - Egotism 12"
Stone Roses - She Bangs the Drum 12" (Simply Vinyl reissue)
Cure - Disintegration 2xLP 2010 reissue on 180g vinyl
Good to know. I haven't listened to it yet. Realized earlier this fall that my old copy of Disintegration, a picture disc, was completely warped. :/
I was going to put this in the garage thread, but couldn't find it. I was at the record store the other day and they were playing this
I picked up the last cd, this is some next level stuff. To think this was going on in Peru in 1965 is absolutely bonkers to me. Has anyone else heard these guys? Am I late to the party as usual?
