    I went today after work.

The Dicks - Kill From the Heart
Howlin' Wolf - Moanin' in the Moonlight

Both represses. I'd never heard the Dicks before, but dear god is this album awesome. Bluesy funky punk shit, and Gary Floyd had to have been the most flamboyant man in Texas in the 80s.

New record store opened up down the street from me. Mostly reissues and used records, but I found some cool stuff.

    LP:
    A.R. Kane - When You're Sad
The Jim Carroll Band - Catholic Boy
The dB's - Stands for Decibels
Lesley Gore - The Golden Hits of Lesley Gore
    Hawkwind - Space Ritual
    Jawbox - Grippe
Love Battery - Between the Eyes
    Love Battery - Far Gone

I'm more stoked on finding the Hawkwind record, which is in great shape and sells for significantly more than I paid for it. The Jawbox and Love Battery records were nice finds though. Plus the very first A.R. Kane 12".

I've been trying to get all of the original Hawkwind releases from the classic period. I kind of hate not having money, cuz last time I was at Amoeba prior to today I saw Warrior on the Edge of Time for $20, and I just couldn't spend it. It was the original shield cover too.

Yeah, that has been my quest as well. I never see their records used, so if they exist I am making a point to grab them.

A couple of mail orders came today.

    LP:
Smith & Mighty - Bass is Maternal
Smith & Mighty - The Three Stripe Collection 1985-1990

I did, thanks for the help. The real winner for me is the first Box Tops record, though. That's some cool shit to find in the clearance bin.

Whoa, surprised you hadn't heard the Dicks prior to this, since they're responsible for Mudhoney's best song.

FYI if you bought the Amoeba Groupon deal you cannot use two at the same time on the same day. Nor can you use it in conjunction with any sort of trade-in you did.

If any of you are in/near/around NYC, you might want to head to Brooklyn this weekend.

    http://www.brooklynflea.com/2012/09/...air-october-6/

The Flea's fifth Record Fair, and second of 2012, takes place Saturday, October 6, inside Smorgasburg. After two highly successful recent fairs, vendors requested the new twice-annual schedule, particularly to accommodate record labels' release calendars. Surrounded by 100 food vendors, with special guest DJs all day, and now with SmorgasBar selling Brooklyn-made beer, wine, and spirits, the record fair has become one of the most popular market days of the year.
Four top independent labels join the lineup of 32 vendors: Ghostly International, Merge, Mexican Summer, and Warp. Like many labels, Merge is debuting a major fall album before its official release date at the record fair: Jiaolong by Daphni (aka Dan Snaith of Caribou). Similarly, Kanine Records will be selling copies of its Grizzly Bear vinyl/LP reissue of Horn of Plenty before its January 2013 release; Minimal Wave will have pre-release copies of its latest, Deux's "Golden Dreams" EP; Ghostly will have pre-release 12"s of HTRK/Tropic of Cancer's "Part Time Punks Radio Sessions"; and many more.
Just announced: Flying Lotus will be signing copies of his excellent new album, Until the Quiet Comes, at the Warp Records booth on Saturday.
Special guest collectors include Siltbreeze Records founder Tom Lax, Jesper Eklow of Endless Boogie, a shared booth of music-industry veterans (Kris Chen, Hua Hsu, Piotr Orlov, Joseph Patel), DJ Moosaka (also the Smorgasburg market manager), Robert Schaad (a psych/minimal specialist), Mondo Kim's, and the Greenpoint vinyl shop Coop 87. (See below for a full list of vendors and specialty items.)
The event also marks the launch of renowned Delaware craft brewery Dogfish Head's sponsorship of the record fair. As independent producers, music-lovers and even creators of their own annual record fair in Rehoboth Beach, Dogfish is a perfect partner for us. In addition to its popular 60 Minute IPA and Punkin Ale, Dogfish will have available its rare seasonal "Bitches Brew," inspired by the Miles Davis album.
Here's the list of vendors, etc:

Yep, what Jared said. I'd definitely not be able to buy it if it hadn't been repressed.

Also, I keep realizing how much I enjoy your taste in music, might have to start backtracking and listening to some of the things you've mentioned on the forum.
Thanks... I guess we should have chatted more about it when you were up here last week. Also, listen to what Jared recommends. He's one of my biggest music gurus.
