    Swans - The Seer

They split the title track over almost two sides of vinyl.

The Seer sounds absolutely fantastic, but it's a real bummer that the tracklist plays out in a way that three songs are split between two sides of vinyl. I understand that The Seer had to be, but they didn't HAVE to do that with The Apostate or A Piece of Sky. Still, glad to finally listen to the record of it. Much more refined than the live set, that's for sure.

I also picked up The Seer at last week's Swans show.... can't wait to give it a spin. Oh, and I got Michael Gira to autograph it after the show

Also bought Swans - The Seer last night. I got the last copy; the merch girl grabbed the display copy and handed it to me; the dude next to me yelled with bulging eyes "is that the last copy?!" and I didn't stick around to see what happened next.

    LP:

High on Fire - The Art of Self-Defense

Say what you will about Southern Lord, but they give a shit about their vinyl releases. I still need to listen, but it looks and feels incredible.

I love Southern Lord. They really care about the releases they put out. I only have a few from them, but they are all meticulously crafted and sound great.

I likewise spent a little bit recently:

Eno - Here Come the Warm Jets ($3! The cover is beat, but the record looks really good and shiny, with only one superficial scratch. Can't wait to get home tomorrow and listen.)

no one needs that much merzbow, but I love his early stuff so much. not sure I'll be able to resist the VOD boxset. has a ton of the super rare stuff from merzbox and some stuff I've never heard from that era.

It was $5, but either way it was a steal. The guy at Atomic didn't really have any idea what it was, which I think is why it was priced so low.

Found some sick records while digging this weekend. I had never, ever seen Chelsea Girl used before, and the condition is wonderful. Bought a couple of new ones too. And my roommate gave me the new Dr. John record for my birthday.

    LP:
D.A.F. - Die Kleinen Und Die Bosen
    Dr. John - Locked Down
    Brian Eno - Ambient 4
    M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming
    Nico - Chelsea Girl
The Stanley Brothers - The Legendary Stanley Bros. Vol. 1
The Stanley Brothers - The Legendary Stanley Bros. Vol. 2
The Walkmen - You & Me
Various Artists - First Edition (awesome comp of Editions EG)
