    Tim Hecker - Dropped Pianos

I was surprised to see this at the local shop, but seeing how he is on the Juno nominee list for Electronic Album I am less surprised.

got my latest DFA order in, and did they ever hook it up -

    Ordered -
the RAPTURE - Sail Away limited 12"
YACHT - I Walked Alone remix 12" (featuring the Get A Room! and Jacques Renault remixes. Limited one time only pressing.)

and they threw in a bunch of stickers, postcards, a poster, and
LCD SOUNDSYSTEM - North American Scum (vinyl)

My copy of Onanie Bomb showed up today. I'm stunned at the shape of the sleeve and the record. It looks as if it's never been played, and other than one slight bend at the very edge of the corner, the sleeve is in pristine condition. Money well spent.

Oh man, and I'm just now actually listening to it. The mix on the CD (and, subsequently the mix I've always heard) was shit. This thing is brutal!

The represses are remastered and supposedly kick the shit out of the originals. I have the repros of Is This Real and Youth of America, they rip.

    Excellent.

Question for all: How often do you make a list before going shopping? I'm doing that just now, just in case I make a stop at Groove Records in SF. I've never done this, but I figured it's a must for that place.

The place on Market? I haven't been in a while, but a list certainly couldn't hurt.

    Was feeling jazzy today

Charlie Christian - Live! With the Benny Goodman Sextet - 1940
Charlie Christian - Genius of the Electric Guitar
Roy Eldridge - Live From the Three Deuces - 1937

I try to keep a mental list in my head of things to look for; sometimes I rely on my Discogs wantlist but most of the time, I go just to see what's available and I end up remembering thing or stumbling across gems as I go along.

So one of my regular stops starting sending out e-mails every time they get new records in, and by new i mean used, and by the crate fulls. So its been pretty much down hill since then. After work stop -

Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood (single 12")
the Pharcyde - Ya Mama rmx 12"
Del the Funky Homosapien - If You Must (single)
David Bowie - Changes One (covers beat up, but the wax is in great shape)
Misfits - Collection II (really excited, my first Misfits record)
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (the year of the troll)

Yes! Between this place and Recycled Records, I go broke in SF. Rasputin and Amoeba are nice and all, but I make my good finds at these places.

I always end up doing a mental list, and it's usually a headache. Except, of course, when the gems are discovered.

I keep thinking about making an actual list, but it never happens. Was just wondering if anyone took the time to actually plan out an extended visit to a shop.

Every once in a while I go with something in mind, but usually I just go to see what I can find.

Picked up the new Silver Mt. Zion 2x7" at the Casbah show. Oh and the show was awesome. Really wish I would have saw them at ATP also.

I was gonna go digging in the bins tonight but my lack of sleep all week forced me to take a detour to a small CD shop. A small CD shop where I honestly wasn't expecting to find Burial's Street Halo/Kindred EP.

    Sometimes I lurve Japan.

Ugh. I saw that you posted in here last night and purposely didn't open the thread because I knew you found something awesome.

Nice. I wasn't able to squeeze in a visit this time, but I made up for it by buying weasel poop at Healthy Spirits in Castro.

How much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking? I found and bought a copy last summer when I was digging in DC and will be jealous if you paid less.
