22$ which, given how it's routinely listed for 25$ on discogs, felt like something of a steal to me. I also got the Portishead record for half of what I see it going for in American shops.

My trip ended with me getting the following:

    - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy "The Letting Go"
    - Guided By Voices "Under the Bushes Under The Stars"
    - Yo La Tengo "Today Is The Day"
    - Coldplay "Viva La Vida" (yeah, yeah, I know...)
    Upcoming Shows:
    * Dillon Francis + Anamanaguchi -- December 28th

Going to Weekend 1 of Coachella 2014

Jeffrey Lee really was his own worst enemy. If he were able to keep himself more straight he could have been at least as big and influential as Nick Cave. He had that level of range in his songwriting and, by all accounts, that sort of oversized personality.

Although, his idea of doing a Japanese rap album in the mid 90s may not have been the most well-conceived idea he had.

Got back from Canada and ended up bringing some friends across the border:

    - Echo & The Bunnymen "Porcupine"
    - The Shins "Chutes Too Narrow"
    - Kanye West "Late Registration"

I might have to do something about that copy of Late Registration, it skips like a motherfucker on side A and I bought it brand new. Don't know why it's doing that.

Also Bryan, I saw an Acid Mothers Temple record at one of the stores I went to, but I have no way of contacting anyone north of the border, so yeah... Sorry. Granted, this presumes you don't own their discography, but yeah.

Speaking of skipping records, does anyone have any tried and true methods for cleaning vinyl? Bryan recommended a carbon fiber brush a couple pages back, but if I'm going to invest in something I want to make sure I'm buying the right thing. There's a lot of products out there, and I imagine the quality can be pretty variable.

This is something I'm looking forward to later this year. Please support!

You've probably read about how much we've loved The Numero Group's reissues of Syl Johnson's music over the last few years in our updates. Now, former OM employee Rob Hatch-Miller is working on an amazing documentary about him called Syl Johnson: Any Way The Wind Blows. It's a real labor of love and, if you're inclined, you can donate to his Kickstarter here

Never thought I would post in this thread, seeing how I stopped buying music for the most part for the last 10 years. (I make up my support in concerts and merch :P)

Anyways, finally picked up a decent record player and soundsystem. I love Vinyl. Discogs is a very dangerous website for me now though.

Drove down to Hollyweird yesterday and picked up some vinyl

    Grandmaster Flash - The Source
Disclosure - The Remixes Vol. 1
Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
Breach - you Will Never Love Again
Session Victim - House of Haunted House pt. 3
Superfan will be in front of the Fonda masturbating furiously to a photo of him taking a photo of a band. Set is from 8:05 to approximately 8:05:15. Guest list only.

Upcoming Shows: Nocturnal Wonderland Saturday, Cut Chemist/Dj Shadow - Palladium, Massive Attack SB Bowl, Festival Supreme, Coachella 2015

Awesome, I'm glad you like it. I haven't heard the whole thing yet but was going to throw it on this morning. Wait 'til you hear the new Weekend album.

The artists on the comp are Titonton, Enhanced, Morgan Geist, A Guy Called Gerald, Art Forest, Claude Young, Never on a Sunday, Underground Resistance, Dorian Gig and Q-Moog. I got the first volume when I was in London last summer and it is fucking fantastic, so I was happy to find this one on Discogs at a good price and in good shape.

Yeah. This album was my intro to Fahey...I remember downloading it in my dorm room freshman year of college because it was one of the Allmusic picks. I've put it back at the store more times than I can count and finally bit the bullet.

Thirding the love for the Mantles album, and I'm waiting for the new Weekend to arrive via Slumberland (which I'm pretty sure is my new favorite label). It's currently somewhere in between San Francisco and Atlanta.

Had been on the vinyl fence for years; this christmas, brother in law got us a record player. That was the nudge we needed. Been hitting up $1 bins, getting records as gifts and getting ourselves records. We've gotten all kinds of cool stuff from those $1 bins, like a bunch of Herb Alpert (still looking for Rise), Elton John, Neil Diamond, Carpenters, Smokey Robinson, Sugarhill Gang, movie soundtracks, etc. Some select choices we're excited to own:

Sigur Ros - Peta Er Island (2008 bootleg)
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (35th Anniversary Boxed Set)
Postal Service - Give Up (10th Anniversary Set)
David Bowie - Heathen (V&A Heathen Orange edition)
    Upcoming: 04/11/14-04/13/14 - Coachella Weekend One; 04/18/14-04/20/14 - Coachella Weekend Two; 08/19/14 - NIN/Soundgarden (Isleta Amphitheater - Albuquerque, NM)

So, for y'all who are into the Sigur Ros trip, I snagged both Agaetis Byrjun and ( ) for $21 apiece, new, off Amazon from sellers. One of the sellers still has 6 copies of ( ) in his/her store. Just a heads up, you won't find them that cheap.
