So .... was the ATDI Coachella limited-release just a rumor? I asked everyone at the Zia store on Friday and no one had a clue what I was talking about. "No man, that's next week, they're pressing 4,000 copies" etc etc etc. That was disappointing, I thought there was another Coachella-specific release again this year.

AFAIK there are three Coachella-specific releases:

Rodriguez – Cold Fact: 500 units on clear vinyl.

Portugal. The Man – Church Mouth: Bone colored vinyl, 500 units

Puscifer – V is for Vagina: Red vinyl and numbered to 500

    I hope this helps...

Fresh off the news that At The Drive In’s Acrobatic Tenement would be reissued onto vinyl, it’s now been revealed that Relationship of Command will receive the same treatment. The album, originally released in 2000, will be released on colored vinyl for Record Store Day 2013, with the standard release coming the following Tuesday.

According to a press release, the band’s own label, Twenty-First Chapter Records, will handle the U.S. release; Transgressive will release in UK and Europe; and Dine Alone will release in Canada. Record Store Day is being held on April 20th, with the standard release to reportedly occur on April 22nd. You can see the tracklisting for the reissue, below. We’ll keep you updated on what exactly the standard release will include.

    1. Arcarsenal
    2. Pattern Against User
    3. One Armed Scissor
    4. Sleepwalk Capsules
    5. Invalid Litter Dept.
    6. Mannequin Republic
    7. Enfilade
    8. Rolodex Propaganda
    9. Quarantined
    10. Cosmonaut
    11. Non-Zero Possibility
    12. Catacombs (Bonus Track)

Update 3/14/13: The 2xLP, colored vinyl pressing will be limited to 4,000 copies. The records will be packaged in a gatefold jacket.

It does, thanks. I got it mixed up in my head. I was hoping for another 500-press ATDI release after I was able to snag Vaya last year.

Vinyl experts: Will the cost of the Daft Punk vinyl come down after the "presale", or should I just shut up and give them my money? I mean...$40. Come on.

Non expert here so I have no clue, but Amazon has it for $32... Then there's the free shipping.

Found most everything I wanted yesterday. Put that Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me reissue, Titus Andronicus 12" and Sub Pop comp back so I didn't go over my self-imposed financial barrier, but hopefully I can track them down later. I guess I'm cursed to never see anything Sigur Ros related on RSD, but that is what it is. Bough a non-RSD 7" and got another one via mail order too.

Oh, and my friend snagged a couple records for me at Coachella. Sweet.

    7":
Cold Cave - Oceans With No End
    Torche - Harmonslaught

    10":
Beak - 0898/Welcome to the Machine

    LP:
At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command
Big Star - Nothing Can Hurt Me
Codeine - What About the Lonely
Miles Davis - Round About Midnight
    Miles Davis - Milestones
Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
Orange Juice - You Can't Hide Your Love Forever
Orange Juice - Rip It Up
    Orange Juice - Texas Fever
Tame Impala - Tame Impala EP
The Three O'Clock - Live at the Old Waldorf
    The White Stripes - Elephant

Boo. Salah and I both wanted the Kiss Me release, but Amoeba SF seemed to sell out of it right away. (Probably didn't help that it was one of the first ones you saw walking in the door).

Edit: damn, you got biggie too. Another that SF sold out of immediately.

Yesterday I took my lack of success purchasing RSD things to buy a bunch of stuff that I could purchase any old time.

    LP:
    Nick Drake – Pink Moon
Guided by Voices – Class Clown Spots a UFO
Steve Mason – Monkey Minds in the Devil's Time
    Thurston Moore – Psychic Hearts
The Mountain Goats – The Sunset Tree
    New Order – Low Life
Orange Juice – You Can't Hide Your Love Forever (the only RSD item on my list I could actually find)
    Pixies – Surfer Rosa
Frank Turner – Tape Deck Heart

My friend snagged Biggie for me at Coachella. They had a couple of copies left at 1-2-3-4 Go! though when I was in there. I think they were snapped up soon thereafter.

Amoeba was, of course, full of skinny bearded white guys buying rap records. (Saw a lot of people with the GZA box set. That must have been spendy...)

Was lazy and didn't make to a record store yesterday but all these RSD posts got me jealous (particularly the Jamie xx remixes) so went to a store today to see if I could get anything good. Store had nothing worthwhile for me but ended up with a few non-RSD stuff.

WhoMadeWho - Space For Rent 12"
Nicolas Jaar - Space is Only Noise
    Atoms For Peace - Amok

In short, I suck at RSD.

Got the new Black Angels LP with a free ticket to the 5/18 Glass House show. Anyone planning on going to that show? I can pickup an LP (24.99) or CD (16.99) for you if you're not nearby, but there's only a few LPs in stock at Rhino, so lmk asap.

Hahaha, this exactly. Count me as another skinny white dude trying to buy rap that morning. That GZA boxed set was, I want to say, about $115 or $130 or something like that. I mean, come on, five discs? I love that record but that is fucking excessive.

Most days living in a small town with no record store kind of sucks as a collector. Then, there are days like today, when a thrift store so completely blows your mind that you're thankful no one else is around to grab any of this stuff (most of which is in pristine condition):

The 64 Greatest Motown Original Hits (4LP box set)
Ella Fitzgerald - Ella Fitzgeral Sings the Irving Berlin Song Book
Stevie Wonder - Journey Through the Secret Life Of Plants
Stevie Wonder - Hotter Than July
The Doors - Waiting For the Sun
The Beatles - Meet The Beatles (US Mono 1st press)
    Dire Straits - Making Movies
Chubby Checker - Your Twist Party With the King of Twist
Joan Baez - Joan Baez (1st album, Mono 1st press)
    Eagles - Eagles (1st press)
Kris Kristofferson - Jesus Was A Capricorn
Love - Da Capo (1st Press)
Buck Owens and his Buckaroos - Carnegie Hall Concert
    Chicago Transit Authority - 1
Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water (1st Press)

Wow. Solid pick-up. I have most of these but I certainly wasn't able to acquire them all in one swoop.

The most exciting part was that it was a total of $15 and so far everything I've listened to has been in decent to really good quality.

You must have gotten the one disk version or something. The two disk version still has Old Dreams at the end of disk one.

So i need some speaker recs for my turntable.... what should i get? Looking to spend $350 or less. I heard the Wharfedale Diamond 9.1's are one of the best, anyone know how to get them in the US? Any help would be deeply appreciated since I'm pretty clueless on this.
