Yeah, those purchases made me think "Gregbait". The sound on the Louis Armstrong box is stellar, even on the 20s cuts.

Also, Popmarket put up El Camino by the Black Keys for $18, shipped. That's $7 less than I see it retailing for anywhere else. I picked up a copy.

I picked up Captain Beefheart's Clear Spot for $11 the other day which is my second favorite album by him...It is pretty beat up but I love the songs on this album and bear through it.Since there is some Black Keys talk on this page here is a cover the Black Keys doing a song from Clear Spot. Also HOLY SHIT pulling up this song I found ANOTHER Captain Beefheart cover by the Black Keys they have about enough songs for a great Captain Beefheart Ep cover by them.

... meh its an OK cover

They put that out on RSD a few years ago on a colored 7". For me, the flipside is bread & butter: Flaming Lips covering Madonna's "Borderline."

That Adele bundle is also a great deal. Both records for $26. Most times I can't even find 19, and 21 is never tagged under $22.99. Tempted.

The mix on Left and Right is different from the album version. I really dig it.

It's pretty dern good. Two discs culled from Norman Granz's JATP shows in Los Angeles in January 1946. A couple tunes feature Dizz and a couple others have Coleman Hawkins. Fantastic all around.

That's the only actual Basie record I have. Everything else is either a comp/collection or he's playing on someone else's track. It's really good. Ton of different players, but Lester Young throws down with Illinois Jacquet, Jimmy Rushing does vocals on a couple, Buddy Rich makes a brief but memorable appearance. Roy Eldridge shows up on the last track and takes it to the next level. Love Roy Eldridge.

    Convince me by tomorrow morning:

Should I buy Soundgarden - Badmotorhead and PJ Harvey - To Bring You My Love for $35?

Why am I asking? I just did it.

Sexy cover or psychedelic cover? I love that album. I'm totally gonna put that on tonight. You should really try to find The Cry of Love by Hendrix. It blew my mind the first time I heard it; a posthumous release with some of his best work.
