typically the biggest drawback, from what I've been told, to colored vinyl is that it's more likely to be heavily recycled... making it noisier by nature. i've noticed this on occasion and tend to avoid colored stuff as a result.

Yeah, this and the whole "getting damaged more easily" thing (my Strange Mercy record already has a scratch on side B) has made me wary of getting colored vinyl. That and I think if I wanted them, I'd either go broke or mad from being unable to get EVERYTHING colored, so it's a healthy choice.

Also, does anyone have any info on Girard turntables? I'm going to be taking my mother's old turntable when I move up to WA and she swears that's the make of it (not Garrard or Gerard) and a google search turns up nothing but some guy's picture of a turntable with a bunch of boardgames on it on flickr, no less. It hasn't been used in 20 years so I'm trying to see if I can even find replacement parts and everything to try and get it to work again. Thanks.

God dammit. I spent years tracking all those EPs down, several of which were quite expensive. I finally completed the collection four months ago and now they're repressing the whole lot? Fuck.

EDIT: Nevermind, they're not repressing the L.A. EPs or Shhhh, so it's less aggravating. Still, I paid $50 for Reset EP and it's now going for $11. Again, fuck.

Apparently they had some delay in the pressing or distribution, so ONLY pre-orders and European buyers are getting the album now. Everyone else has to wait til the end of the month.

I wonder when the Relationship of Command repress is coming, or if that will be hindered by the fact that it was released on Grand Royal rather than Fearless.
