Just received my copy of the re-issue of We Rose From Your Bed With The Sun In Our Head, the Swans 2-CD recent live compilation. It is thunderous and intense and wonderful, in the way that the vocals-forward NPR-stream of their ATP NJ performance was not. I was half listening at not loud enough (because, really) and it was still emotionally affecting.

Yeah, same here. I love Essplode and Lablakely Dress, but that is probably just cause of the awesome versions of Fireworks they did live with those songs. That album gets listened to least often of theirs.
Bought Quakers on vinyl a couple of days ago. Bought it blind and am glad I did. Production is fantastic, rhymes were good... need to give it more spins asap.
Tomahawk -Eponymous to Anonymous
I'll take Danse Manatee over MPP and all the EPs except Prospect Hummer. I think it gets a bad rap.
It's certainly disjointed... but i think the transition from Spirit to it makes it clear that's by design (especially if you listen to the live pre-HCTI tracks that immediately followed it). I think the album is the perfect bridge between the noisy psych of Hollindagain and Strawberry Jam->on. It's pretty astonishing to me how similar that album is to the earlier incarnations of the MPP songs. If anything, the album perfectly illustrates how non-linear AC's career has been. It's a straight up noise album, and quite unpleasant on first blush, no doubt there... but Another White Singer->Runnin' The Round Ball is one of my favorite stretches they've ever done.
Cops - Premonitions EP
Sugarhill Gang - Rapper's Delight
Jacques Brel - L'Histoire de Babar
The Gun Club - Fire of Love
Heavenly - Operation Heavenly
Sinead O'Connor - The Lion and the Cobra
Sham 69 - Tell Us the Truth
Finally snagged this:
The place I got it from had a few more of the Girls in the Garage comps, all for $40 (how much this one was.) They're averaging anywhere from $50-$150 online, so I'm going to try and go grab the rest over the next few weeks...
Oh, and this copy is transluscent yellow, which I had never heard of...
Sigur Rós - Valtari arrived in the mail today
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92
The cover is absolutely horrible looking.
Looks like something Skrillex would use for his albums.
I'm pretty sure this is a bootleg. Definitely not the R&S reissue. Oh well. I'm just happy to own it on vinyl in some capacity. Time to hear how it sounds...
Yeah, it's not the R&S, but the sound isn't horrible.
Getbetter and I hit up Amoeba today. The dollar bin was on fire. Only the first two purchases weren't from there:
Fairport Convention - Fairport Convention (second album, US release)
Fairport Convention - Full House
Iron Maiden - Powerhouse
Harry Nilsson - A Touch of Schmilsson in the Night
The Coolies - Dig...?
Paul Simon - Paul Simon
Big Brother and the Holding Company - Cheap Thrills
John Lennon and Yoko Ono - Double Fantasy
Hank Williams - Honky-Tonkin' (Hell yes!)
Here is my vinyl record collection to date.
Special notes: Abbey Road is sealed in the original plastic from the 1970's. Let It Be is seen here twice because one is the Japanese pressing.
Special notes: OK Computer is missing here cause it was stolen from my apartment almost 2 years ago.

Explosions in the Sky, Pinback, Steely Dan, and Simon and Garfunkel.
Special notes: Both Pinback records are signed by the 2 main band members.
Special Notes: Sky Blue Sky is signed by 3 of the members of Wilco, and Enter is signed by all three members of Russian Circles.
