Thread: Best Potential (Realistic) 2012 Headliners Poll

Default Best Potential (Realistic) 2012 Headliners Poll

Scrolled quickly through the polls and didn't see a 'realistic' headliner poll so I made one. Just looking through the rumours/wishlist threads and also looking through the Fake Posters thread I picked out a number of bands that people seem to think are possible headliners, also put in acts that headlined Lolla and 'Roo last year, and left off acts that have headlined RECENTLY or would be considered VERY UNLIKELY (ie. the 3 R's - Reunions, Robots, Resurrections) by the majority of boardmembers.

Sooooo the question is simple, which of these acts would you be most happy with as headliners?

    Coldplay
    Radiohead
    No Doubt
    Foo Fighters
    Pearl Jam
    Bjork
    Red Hot Chili Peppers
    Beastie Boys
    Eminem
    Outkast

I hope for Radiohead, Bjork, and Slim. Outkast isn't happening any time soon...

Outkast isnt realistic at all. I dont care if Bjork headlines, there will be something at the Mojave or Sahara to end the night.

I chose Radiohead, Bjork and Pearl Jam. I feel that is my best possible combo, as they are all bands I'd like to see, and haven't seen live yet. I've seen Foo Fighters, which was a fun show at Lolla, but I'd be a little disappointed to go so far to see FF again. It could be worse I suppose. I think that if we look at the way Coachella has been going over the past few years, there's a good chance there will be a hip hop headliner.

I saw Eminem at Bonnaroo, and it was okay, but he plays too much of his new stuff. He dedicated less than a quarter of his time to the first half of his career, which is the only part I actually like. I skipped him at Lolla for this reason, and stayed to see My Morning Jacket (slow) and Lykke Li (much better) on the North side. I feel that the Beasties would be a better show. They've never really had a bad point in their career, and I missed seeing them when they had to cancel Lolla in 09.

I don't think Outkast will happen. Too much against them coming back together. Not that I wouldn't really like to see them, but it's just not happening.

    For the others:
RHCP: I have no desire to see them. I'm bored by anything they've put out in the past 10 years.
No Doubt: I'm not really a fan of anything from ND, maybe just a couple songs. I'll pass.
Coldplay: I actually wouldn't mind seeing them since I stayed on the south end and watched Muse at Lollapalooza this year. Muse was pretty boring, so I kind of wish I'd seen Coldplay instead. I never thought I'd say that.

    Why isnt tool realistic?
"How long will this last, this delicious feeling of being alive, of having penetrated the veil which hides beauty and the wonders of celestial vistas? It doesn't matter, as there can be nothing but gratitude for even a glimpse of what exists for those who can become open to it."
