Arcade Fire still found a way to get nominated. Scenes From The Suburbs got a nomination.

Wow. It's like a celebration of everything shitty about music.

And for the record, Foo Fighters have stopped trying and have ventured into Nickelback territory, and Foster The People will win alternative album.

Bon Iver gets alternative, he got nominations high up, they will give him something lower tier for the hell of it. Foster wasnt nominated for best new artist, so they could get the other award they got nominated for.

One is for the producers, the other goes to the people who wrote the music.

LOl @ The Black Keys getting nominated for a cover song.

How does Mumford and Sons get nominated for best new artist last year and album of year this year for the same album that came out in 2009?

Is it because it didn't chart well until this year?

The Cave got put out as a single last year, so they used that loophole to keep em in there. Also, people responded well to their performance last year so they are just trying to find the feel good bullshit to shove down peoples throats.

The recording academy still thinks the taylor swift shit is grounds for not getting the nomination.

I hope you're just joking around with that, but if you aren't thats ridiculous. That album is amazing and it should get that type of recognition. Taylor Swift could care less now I'm sure...

I'm not even making the case for MBDTF on grounds of artistic merit; I'm simply surprised that the suits who run this thing would ignore the massive critical and commercial consenus behind it. The Taylor Swift thing is as good of an explanation as anything.

So after this, Bon Iver pretty much has a first subheadlining spot next year.

    Seconded.

Maybe not quite reached Nickelback level, but they are about a half-step below in my mind. I lost all respect for them after "Times Like These" but god damnit they suck now.

If we tied grammy nominations with where you got billed on the Coachella line up, shit would be waaaaaaaaaay out of whack. And I like how you think Paul T watched the awards show and was like ''crap, bon iver needs needs to jump up like 5 more spots cause of each grammy nod''

Oh I definitely don't think there's a correlation, but I see this as something of a mainstream tipping point that will capitalize on existing indie popularity and his very, very good year.

Seriously! It's absolutely ridiculous how great that album is, and how completely forgettable the actual noms are. Ridiculous.

And I don't know why Decemberists were nominated for "Down by the Water" but not for The King is Dead. And DCFC Crap & Keys got a nom.

Anyway, what's the point in pointing out every specific thing wrong...

Oh my, Skrillex has an awful lot of nominations

I must say, his remix of Benny Benassis CINEMA is AWESOME and it should win the best remix catagory.

I hope Robyn wins in one of the 2 dance catagories.

What was weird about Robyn is they nominated her for Body Talk, Part 3, which to the best of my knowledge, was a download-only comp of the remaining tracks from Body Talk (the album I think they intended to nominate) that hadn't previously appeared on Body Talk, Part 1 or Body Talk, Part 2.

Are you suggesting Bon Iver is not on the first line of subs next year? That's just silly.

I can't wait to watch Kanye's antics at the Grammys for being snubbed.

Maybe they purposely did it because they KNOW he will do something AND people are going to tune in for it.
