* Live Painting by Jennifer Springman *
Jennifer Springman was born in 1981 in Venice, CA and raised in South Central Los Angeles until moving to a small town in Wisconsin at the age of 12. Springman displayed a keen interest and natural ability in the visual arts from a very young age and continued her artistic development at University. After graduating, she returned to Los Angeles and began showing her work in 2007 with Cannibal Flower and immediately gained recognition for her beautifully dark, soft painterly style of portraiture combined with her distinct use of patterns. Springman’s distorted, surrealistic figures are rendered with a striking beauty that is juxtaposed against an undeniably sinister thread of emotion that captures her individual perception of the human condition.
