I've become very addicted to this game. Joined the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood and have pretty much been doing their quests exclusively. I think I am on maybe the 6th or so quest in the main story, but that has completely taken a back seat to my other quests. Currently I have to (minor spoilers): Assassinate the Emperor, Gather information on my homie that betrayed me, break a priest out of "capture" so I can sacrifice him to a demon, and find out where the next dragon burial site is. I want to do them all at once but I find myself focusing on one quest line and following it for a while, not to mention the random dungeons I come across that can take up to a half hour to clear out.

I also love how immersive the game is with little things like overhearing people in a town talk about things I've done already. It really draws you in and makes you feel like you are affecting the massive world you are in.

I assumed that dragon armor was exclusively heavy armor this whole time until I just scrolled down and noticed I could craft it for light armor as well!

You can find it, but I have yet to find all four pieces of armor. I would highly recommend upping your smithing to 100 and then going either the light or heavy armor routes. Not only can you make and sell armor and weapons, but you can upgrade your weapons and armor by twice as much if you have the respective smithing perk. It's way easy to get your smithing up to 100 too, I can tell you the way to do it if you want me to.

Yeah I know all about it, I just find it a little annoying that that is the only way to get the best light armor and weapons. It feels like it's almost a required skill tree. Oh well, to 100 smithing I go.

Yeah, the one thing I sort of feel bad about when it comes to my character is that I know I don't have great armor. I mean, I want to just use light armor, but I don't have the best light armor... And I've been reluctant to spend any perks on smithing, only because there is usually an archery or sneak perk that I can get... But then, I guess since there are so many levels in this game, I can think about smithing soon.

129 hours (although I'm certain that a good 15-20 of that was time spent on the pause screen) and I've reached level 50, completed the Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, College of Winterhold, Bard College and Companions quest lines and finished the main quest line.

I was going to go ahead and get 100% of the achievements for the game... But then I found I screwed myself on one of them (the achievement for the Daedric artifacts, you apparently have to actually OWN all of them and I sold off two or three at the beginning of the game)... though I might still grab the last two I have left (1000 bounty in all holds would be quick and easy enough to grab, and I think I'm like 2 dungeons shy of the 50 dungeons cleared achievement)... However, I am declaring myself effectively done with this game. Allowing myself to return to a life where I am considered cool and only nerdy in an endearing sort of way. And not seen as merely one step above a basement dweller.

(that is... done until DLC is released).

Exactly how I feel - at least as an archer/sneak your armor isn't vital to your survival.

Very true. My battle plan is to just never get hit by anything.

Also: It's good to see people making use of the Bard College's teachings.

Yeah I decided to pick back up on it last night (had only gone so far as to get to do the first visit to the greybeards before) and was done with it in no time. Kind of surprising.

I just reached level 40. I've put about 3/4 of everything on the map (haven't ventured into half of what I've found), have yet to finish the main quest line (visited the wise men once so far) or the other quest lines for that matter and haven't even gotten to Solitude/Dawnstar/Markarth. I can't even get around to becoming a werewolf because I'm so swamped (maybe not that bad -- I could take the Companions up on that whenevs). I guess I have this way of playing these sort of things out.

This game is ace, but I am taking a break from this.

I'm sort of relieved to hear the main quest isn't that long, this is a video game -- it's not supposed to fuck off my other hobbies/social life. But yeah, having a hell of time with it thus far.
