    Default The impossible conflict game

Like little in the Rumors/Gossip/Wish List section of the forums, this won't make much sense in realistic terms.

You can be as simple as you want (artist vs artist), or be more detailed (artist on stage at time vs artist on stage at time) if you like.

Assume you are only getting one shot at this. No both weekends, no half sets. Quote the person's conflict, and then write your own.

I think I'd go with Pulp. Blur vs. Pulp would never happen, but what a tough call.

Noel Gallagher is the Skrillex of britpop.

Radiohead. Sigur Ros is best indoors and the soundbleed from the mainstage would be a problem.
daft punk closing the main vs eric prydz closing the sahara saturday night
    Definitely Daft Punk
Tv on The Radio vs. M83?
The new album is atrocious, but I've only seen M83 once compared to twice for TVOTR, whose Coachella '09 set was a bit underwhelming, so M83.
    Jeff Mangum vs. Flying Lotus
    Jeff Mangum, no contest.
    The Knife vs. Pulp?
Now this is actually impossible. On one hand, I've never seen The Knife, but on the other, they would be more likely to do a show elsewhere. I don't know. Can't imagine a worse conflict.
    adele vs aphex twin
    Aphex Twin
Blur vs Pulp vs Noel Gallagher's new group
    Pulp
Death Cab for Cutie versus Garbage
Death Cab in 2008 was one of the least interesting sets I've ever witnessed at Coachella. Garbage was fun both times I've seen them, so this is easy.

Considering FSOL do those satellite shows nowadays, Burial. Even proper live set, Burial since it's never happened before.

    Impossible conflicts huh?

    Soulwax vs. 2ManyDJs

Actually, I couldn't decide these two so I'll post a second yet tougher one...

Underworld (Sahara) vs. The Prodigy (Main Stage) Both at night.
Sorry, I should have specified that FSOL would be a proper live set.

I haven't listened to enough of either so I can't really say.

For the first one, I like both but Soulwax interests me a little more. As for the other, Underworld since I've never seen them. If it were somewhere in Europe like Glastonbury where the crowd would go wild for The Prodigy, I would choose them.

DFA1979 never started to suck, so yeah...

MSTRKRFT in 2009 was a huge mistake. Should have stayed in the Gobi for Glass Candy and Gang Gang Dance. Definitely DFA 1979.

I am leaning towards the former, but Lush vs Slowdive

For me, it's always Underworld. For some reason The Prodigy never did it for me.

Skrillex in Sahara v. Deadmau5 mainstage v. $10 beers in the beer garden
Iron Maiden, Boards of Canada and Underworld for 2013

Definitely Sufjan Stevens, but he really should be in the Mojave with that incredible setup from the last tour.

Oh God. I guess Deadmau5 since at least there's a fancy light show.

    Radiohead > Sigur Ros
    Daft Punk > Eric Prydz
TV On the Radio > M83 (I've seen TVOTR 3 times and they've been horrible each time, but the new M83 album is crap)
Jeff Mangum < Flying Lotus (Diff story if Neutral milk Hotel obviously)
The Knife > Pulp (Toughest call so far)
Pulp > Blur > Cake > Noel Gallagher (I can't stress how low Noel Gallagher would be)
    Aphex Twin > Adele
Death Cab > Garbage (lesser of two evils for me)
FSOL < Burial (never thought it would happen)
Soulwax > 2ManyDjs (How is this possible?)
Underworld > Prodigy (and almost everything else)
MSTRKRFT > DFA (I still haven't seen MSTRKRFT)
    Basement Jaxx > all others
    Deadmau5 > Skrillex
