I never understood this rule. It's supposed to be so you can't fill the bottle with water and throw it, either at artists or other people, yet you are allowed to bring in your own water bottles with lids, including fucking metal ones. It's really a piss off to not be able to put my freshly mixed rum an coke in my bag.
That being said I never had any issues with security. I dropped my shorts in the middle of the hill and unstrapped liquor from my leg at least a few times. Girls pulled bags out of their boobs. We drank mixed drinks out of clear bottles. Never once did any security talk to us. It could be a luck thing, but it's also my 4th year and I naturally do a quick head turn before I do anything like that.
I naturally do that too, every festival I go to. It's probably just a luck thing and I ran into a lot of bad luck while at Sasquatch. Really, if it weren't for a few setbacks I'm sure I would have had a great time but definitely still would have noticed the sound issues. Boourns is right about not being able to hear well from the back of the main. We had a spot right in front of the speaker the first night which was really easy to get to (another plus for Sasquatch...never really packed so much you can't get through) where the sound was great but the next day we were chilling in the back while Childish Gambino was on and I couldn't hear very well. That was probably a good thing because I don't understand Childish Gambino, but had it been someone I was interested in seeing it would have bothered me.
Ha! I should have asked security if that's why they don't want people sitting on the rocks. If they said they were protecting the rocks from erosion I may have given them a pass.![]()
Hahaha, I need to wrap myself in a CO flag soaked in Tiger balm stuffed with ice packs. Seriously though, if someone finds that professional photo of me put that link up.
Hey Pea, did you enjoy the 2 additional whales that were launched during this set by me and my friends??

The sound from the top of the hill usually isn't great and was made a whole lot worse this year by that fucking "Maine" stage. I really hope they do away with that thing next year. If there's a show you really want to see on the Sasquatch stage, you're best bet is to try and find a good spot lower down on the hill or just go to the floor. Anywhere above those speakers on the polls and it's pretty much pointless.
I thought they actually improved the Bigfoot this year. St Vincent and the Roots sounded especially awesome from where I was standing, though I heard someone tell me that the Roots sounded pretty bad from another spot, so who knows.
The sound was off for Explosions in the Sky. Everyone else I saw sounded fine.

The Black Angels - 5/22 - Hotel Congress
Devo - 5/24 - Rialto Theatre
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - 5/30 - Rialto Theatre
Yeah EITSs sound was kind of shitty, but every other set I saw at the Bigfoot was much improved, even from the back.
But seriously, fuck the Maine stage.
Vampire Weekend (4/18) ~ Sigur Ros (4/19) ~ Old Crow Medicine Show (4/28) ~ Rolling Stones (5/2) ~ Born Ruffians (5/6) ~ Yo La Tengo (5/9) ~ Rhye (5/10) ~ Baths (6/28) ~ Latitude Music Festival (7/21) ~ End of the Road Festival (8/30 - 9/1)
Told y'all we know how to make the Gorge glow.
Someone we camped who also posts here ran around taking video of people dancing during Nobody Beats the Drum and told me he is going to upload it soon because it was so much fun and really awesome. He told me I would have loved the set.
You guys really do! I mean, it was always at the right time (when the lights go down and the drop happens) over and over for every drop for ten minutes or so, and then sporadically throughout the rest of the set. I really went in skeptical and not sure what to expect and you guys blew me away. I haven't witnessed any glowstick-throwing-event-thingy that has ever been pulled off that well.
That's really great to hear! I blacked out after Girl Talk and really have no recollection of Pretty Lights. My glowsticks were all gone the next morning though, so I'm sure I had a good time.
^^Haha man you really party! I saw the last few seconds of Girl Talk, with the fireworks and such. I heard that watching EitS while the Girl Talk fireworks went off was really cool. Also, that rapper who was in between Girl Talk and Pretty Lights was something else. "THRIFT STORE T-SHIRT! THRIFT STORE T-SHIRT!"
Was it Macklemore? I heard that he performed in between sets. What was all the "THRIFT STORE T SHIRT" about?

Yea it was Macklemore. Washington state's new darling hip-hop artist or whatever.
It was part of his rap. He started the song by yelling (I'm paraphrasing), "WHO SHOPS AT THRIFT STORES? PUT YOUR HANDS UP IF YOU LIKE THRIFT SHOPS!" and then going into some verse about shopping at thrift stores and getting THRIFT STORE T-SHIRTS! Other lyrics went along the lines of "THAT SHIRT IS SEVENTY DOLLARS MY SHIRT IS 99 CENTS!" or something. I don't know. If they were going to have people perform in between acts, why didn't they just have those Maine stage people perform in between sets?
EDIT:
Can someone please remind when the early bird tickets go on sale again? I remember it being shortly after the festival the last few years. I haven't been to Sasquatch since 2008 and it's about time I make another appearance.![]()
That was the early bird sale....I think they were only like $15 bucks cheaper but I could be wrong.
I don't really know, either. Pea knows where we were camped, because I found out I was camped basically directly across from him, so maybe he would be of better help. We were in an RV row across from those huge agricultural sprinklers. I liked where we were camped and we had SO MUCH SPACE. That was the best part.
