The crowd at most sets I caught were fine but outside of those they were terrible. And fucking pigs. Pick up your trash you filthy animals.

Best festival experience of my life. I won't even bother arguing with anyone who had a miserable time because I just feel sorry for you.
Just rolled in the driveway....we all had a blast, no ridiculous car searches, met so many great people, enjoyed so many great bands! Jack White is now is a god to me:-) Tenacious D was just AWESOME and I will have to gush about all the other wonderful bands after I mellow out a bit! Great to meet Gribzz and West Coast Pirate and his crew and hope to have them as friends for a long time to come! I love the Gorge!

I figured there was a strong possibility Portlandia would suck. How specifically did they fail?

They probably didnt convince you to go to portland.
I think half the Portlandia crowd left after a while. At least half. It went from over-crowded to desolate.

Were they performing skits as well as songs?

Everybody I talked to said they were awful. Felt like they wrote all of their jokes an hour before their set.

I had an awesome time, but after seeing Coachella get so much shit for its 'LA Douchebag' crowd and the problems with people leaving trash everywhere, it was a bit surprising to find out that Sasquatch was pretty much exactly the same. There might have even been more trash and a ton of the trashcans in the campground were overflowing. I'd definitely go back if the lineup was good, though.
James Murphy and Spiritualized were probably my favorite sets of the weekend.
That was pretty close to a perfect weekend. I'll chime in later with a more comprehensive review, but I don't think I'll ever miss Sasquatch again.

It wasn't great. They just read from lists and recycled jokes from the show. I was hoping they'd perform some of the songs from the show since they had a drummer and keyboardist on stage with them but they didn't. The crowd participation wasn't funny either and was more uncomfortable than anything.

I had a great weekend! Yes everyone needs to pick up their trash. Vitamin Water and Fuze are responsible for half of it for passing out those little cups all day long.
My weekend Favorites
1. Little Dragon
2. Nobody Beats the Drum - I had never heard of them before this weekend and they were amazing. The hardest I danced all weekend.
3. Beck
After experiencing a LNT festival, it really opens your eyes at how wasteful and inconsiderate folks can be at shows. Definitely a vibe I'm looking to avoid (litter bugs).
I may attend this next year as I have many friends in Portland who have attended a few of these...hopefully they get a little stricter on people trashing up the place or make people more aware.
What was the beverage enforcement unknown?
I had a total blast this weekend and would definitely consider returning if they bring another lineup as strong as this years. Was a little annoyed at the lack of organization of things like how they handed out wristbands and ran out of schedules less than an hour in on the first two days but it wasn't a deal breaker by any means.

Disappointments
Spiritualized being moved into Mogwai's time slot causing me to miss them. This was seriously the biggest bummer of the weekend.
Silversun Pickups - Don't really know what I was expecting but they were really bad. Was bored to tears by everyone on stage and felt every song sounded the same.
Shabazz Palaces - They were having some sound problems but I just didn't think they translated that well live especially during the day.
Gribbz, did you get teary-eyed at CB?

Beverage enforcement will make you pour out your flask/bottle full of booze if they catch you with it. Pretty easy to avoid though IMO. I'm kind of glad they're there. Too many blacked out kids on the hill who seriously needed help. Very friendly staff overall.
Haha, I did. During his speech at the end.
Yep. Shuttles, general quietness, great food, etc.

Yeah, the people who were blacked out/needed help were extremely young. Least the ones I saw anyway.

I honestly had a really good time at this festival. I'm certainly glad that I did it this year as I've been wanting to for years now. The view the first time I came over the hill and saw the gorge gave me goosebumps it was so beautiful. That made it all worthwhile. I did learn a lot from this festival too and if I ever do it again then I am definitely going to do it differently. From where my camping spot was it was an absolutely brutal walk to the venue. Also because of the distance camping wasn't what I thought it would be. After a long day at the festival i just wanted rest but the idiots around me were blasting shitty dubstep until like 3 in the morning every single night. Next time i might just get a hotel and pay for some premium parking. In the end though, I'm still glad I came and depending on future lineups I will definitely be back.
