I think it's better than both of those years.

Those are some awesome shots. I assume they're yours?
Nah, I pulled them from some article a while back. Don't remember where exactly.

I remember in 2010 and 2011 all of my friends scrambling to get tickets. This year, I don't know anyone (not from the boards) going. I dont think this years line up has as broad as an appeal as last year.
Yeah, I'm with you there. 2011 didn't interest me much beyond a few bands though.

Last year had the ONLY PNW date for Modest Mouse, and I think that was a big draw. Also, at the time the line up was anounced, Sasquatch was the only chance for Vancouverites to catfh DFA 1979, so I think that was a big get. Plus last years Friday headliner was Foo Fighters... this year its Pretty Lights.

another reason that the fest might not have sold out yet is the lack of brostep on the lineup.

Skrillex late night add? That would sell it out, which is beyond depressing.

I agree with this! I am not planning on checking out a locals only hip hop stage. Perhaps if I was walking by it and it sounded interesting or cool I would stop by and listen for a bit, but no way in hell am I leaving to make what Sasquatch vets have told me is a long walk just to see what's going on over there. It seems that if they want the NW stage to thrive, they would put it in with the other stuff.
Also, I find it odd that there are significantly less bands on that stage than on any other stage. I wonder how that's going to work. It seems like a waste to have that stage open for an average of 3-4 acts a day, doesn't it?
1. Local stages are always a fucking joke and a waste of time, energy, and money.
2. A NW hip-hop local stage is THE biggest fucking joke of a stage I've ever heard of at a festival.
Does anyone know anything about any of the acts playing that stage? If so, post to the lineup thread.

So what's the story with Reptar? I hadn't heard of them until the lineup was released, however everything that I am reading says that they are awesome live. They sound like a funkier Vampire Weekend to me, but I could definitely see this being very fun live.
Fresh off his "JUICY AUSTRALIA TOUR"
Strangely enough, the only opinions of them I've heard have been negative. I'll look into them though. I'm a sucker for Vampire Weekend so maybe this is right up my alley.
It's hard for me to pick a favorite year for Sasquatch. I think it was 2010 though. They might have had the best lineup of all big fests in the US that year for my tastes at least.
I don't know much about Reptar. I researched them a bit last year when they played SXSW and then again in preparation for Lollapalooza but don't remember anything in particular standing out; they seemed to be kind of generic to me. They keep popping up on lineups I like so maybe I should just go watch them and give them a shot. I guess it depends on when they play.
In other news (and this is late), Justin Meldal-Johnsen tweeted a couple of days ago that he is working on new Beck stuff apparently. Good news! Source
^^That's great news!
I'm also finding that I really like this Star Slinger on the lineup.

I like Star Slinger, too! I tried him on a whim and I like all the stuff I've heard. I'm curious as to whether he will be a live or a DJ set though. They don't really specify on the lineup for the most part, besides for Nero.
I am also very interested in checking out the Joy Formidable after watching this video...

Whirring is my favorite song by them! I can't believe after all this time I still haven't seen them (it's been probably 4 years I've been wanting to catch them now). I keep missing them, but they're very high on my list to see. In every video I've seen of theirs they look like they give each performance 110%. Also, every person I know who has seen them raves about them. Westcoast, maybe we'll end up at all the same sets! Haha.
^ Josh is correct. I was really bummed to have missed them at Coachella last year and was blown away by their performance at Outside Lands. Don't miss.
