jen's yardhouse idea for drinks is good as they're usually not too hard to get a table and i'm sure they take reservations. i didn't realize there was one at westgate (walking distance from venue).
westgate restaurants and shops
there's also parkwest a few miles away off northern and the 101
http://www.shopparkwest.com/directory
further north near arrowhead mall (bell road and the 101) there is pretty much anything you could think of

and ivy's preference, la perla in downtown glendale (other restaurants in the area too, but who cares)

*edit* guess who's having a boring day at work!
jen can probably add a ton more.
I thought we were bringing pop up tents and tail-gating on the Great Lawn!

If they let us gate on the lawn, that will be hilarious.
That Westgate property where the venue sits is super duper commercialized--almost exclusively chain places. Yardhouse is the best one, IMO, on the property. Other choices in the immediate vicinity:
Camarones Mexican--overpriced mexican food
Gordon Biersch
Hells Half Acre -- never been
Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville (food=bad)
Kabuki--overpriced Japanese food
Mama Ginas Pizza--pizza
McFaddens -- an attempt at an Irish bar
Saddle Ranch Steakhouse -- never been. The have a mechanical bull.
Shout -- dueling piano bar. Probably dumb.
Big Fat Greek Restaurant --shitty fake greek food
There's a Native New Yorker over by Cabellas across the street.
About a mile away, on 99th Ave/Northern:
BJ's restaurant/brew house -- actually pretty decent bar food
Sandbar (fake beach bar)
Grimaldi's pizza-upscale overpriced pizza
Over at Arrowhead Mall (a few more miles north) there are a shitload of places. Titled Kilt (bar with whores in schoolgirl outfits) comes to mind.
In downtown Glendale, there is the awesome family-owned La Perla Cafe--oldschool mexican food since the 40's. There is also Haus Murphys--traditional German food and german beers served in boots (glass boots, not cowboy boots).
Over on our end (south of the venue) there are a couple of places but none worth mentioning. Native New Yorker again, Islands, Red Robin. Nothing super exciting.
Uh...dunno.

Wow. It's getting some shitty reviews on Yelp. I used to go there all the time when I was a teenager and it was always great. Wonder what has changed.

I'm lobbying for this:
Also, I was entertaining the thought of heading out to Jobing.com Arena on Saturday for the regular onsale. I'm wondering if this is crazy talk and I should just hit Ticketmaster on Saturday, or if I should roll the dice and head out there.

How far is everyone coming from? I'm coming from San Diego, gonna be quite the trip.
I'm coming from LA, mapquest says it will be 375.87 miles. Hopefully this will be the first of 3-4 Radiohead shows this year.
I was thinking of taking the 4 day weekend and doing this and then going camping at Grand Canyon the next couple of days. But it looks like a long drive from Glendale. Anyone from the area know if this is doable? How long would it take me to get to Grand Canyon from Glendale?
Glendale to the Grand Canyon will be about a 3.5 hour drive to the South Rim.

Greyhound from LA would be $42 a person each way. Thinking the 11:35 red eye leaving wednesday night the 14th would be ideal.

Flying 100% the way to go. 1 hour long plane ride vs. 6 hours in a car? Not even close.
By all means, I am down for the Southwest plan. Didn't realize it would be that cheap.
On a seperate concern though, with the tickets for floor being paperless if I end up not being able to make this is there any way of cancelling my ticket if I get that ticketmaster insurance? I have read the qualifications for that insurance, and transportation is one of the acceptable issues. Would my address being in California and the show in Arizona be a good enough reason?
