After watching Jack White's webcast of his set from lollapalooza, I felt I would be disappointed with his set. Especially the way the white stripes songs were performed, but it sounded great. Loved his new band.

I really enjoyed it. I was so stoked on the John the Revelator moment as well as hearing Cannon again. I hadn't seen him since the Dead Weather at Coachella a few years ago, and this was MUCH more entertaining.

Tiesto blasting on the mainstage during the dead weather at coachella that year ruined it for me. One thing awesome about outside lands is the lack of sound bleeding

I prefer his live version of Black Math to The White Stripes version.

I took my girl to the Twin Peaks to watch the second half of Passion Pitt. Sound was atrocious from the back, had to leave. And our friends said Beck sounded awful from around the food vendors, but we were in the pitt and he sounded fantastic.

Oh, did anyone else see Bomba Estereo? These guys are the real deal and laid it down hard Sunday afternoon. So glad I discovered them. Amazing energy and irresistible sound.

So, first OSL for us, and we had a great time. A different kind of festival experience, and I think the thing I enjoyed the most was the mix of people of all ages. It was so nice to NOT feel like the very few middle-aged people amidst a sea of twenty year old kids. Adults. Great food. And Winelands. Awesome. The bad was all the talkers (at their worst during Sigur Ros, which was so aggravating and disappointing --- who fucking talks during Sigur Ros?!?). And the mess. By evening it was shocking. Food plates and crushed beer cups everywhere. (Apparently, the fine people of San Francisco lose their eco-consciousness completely when thoroughly baked, or after over-indulging at Beerlands and Winelands.)

It was definitely cold. We brought and wore our layers and wool beanies, but I'd bring a down jacket (compressible), fingerless gloves, and leg warmers for nighttime if we do it again. And our frame-less camp chairs; we saw people kicking back in theirs and we were like ahhhh we should've brought ours.

We parked the first day at 23rd and Anza, which was a fairly quick and convenient walk in, and on the way back to the car that night, a couple drove up alongside us and offered us their parking pass, since they were only attending on Fri. So we got to park on JFK Dr, and on the small road between the lake and Fulton, on the next two nights for free. Quickest in-and-outs from a festival ever. If you have a car and are going together in a group, paying for a parking pass may not be a bad deal. And near the end of the last night, the security guard where we were hanging out for Jack White and Stevie Wonder let us out into VIP, I guess because we hadn't been bugging him all night, unlike everyone else. So we got 10 minutes worth of VIP, hah. So you can add most lackadaisical security to the list of good things.

It was a good time. And god damn, Neil Young was stellar.

One of my most anticipated going into the festival (they were insane at Chella a few years ago) and they definitely brought it. Not as good as on the fields in the heat, but they are so fun live. They all shred their instruments, particularly the guitarist, and of course the girl is mesmerizing and trippy as fuck. Such a good, weird band.

The fog was nestled in the park all weekend, so 80% of the time it was pretty damn cold...minor complaint really, that doesn't reflect on the festival. I loved the vibe and layout, overall. The backdrops and areas that the minor stages were placed in really set the mood, i loved using the hills as a vantage point for several shows. The food was top-notch, and the wine lands were excellent.

I loved Stevie Wonder, i also thought Santigold, Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Rós, Antibalas, and Metallica brought it. Fun. were better than expected, Fritz and the Tantrums were a good time, like always, Grandaddy was great, Tame Impala and The Walkmen were as advertised. Geographer was a discovery for me, i also enjoyed Passion Pit, Mimosa and Beck from the little i saw. The Barbary was a sick tent inside, but those lines were ridiculous all weekend...I'll be going again to OSL, without a question.

Wait, Jack White played during Franz but in Chocolands? I didn't know about that. I saw the Third Man truck, but thought they were just selling stuff out of it. I have to say I wouldn't have missed Franz even if I'd known though.

Tom Morello and some of the guys from Portugal. The Man were watching JW "secret" show from next to the truck too.

I agree, a Jack White secret show would have been awesome but I don't see how it could have been any better then the Franz Show.

My favorite moment was Big Boi's dj mixing in and eventually dropping "Ms. Jackson." Not my favorite Outkast song by a long shot, it was just one of those moments where there were ear-to-ear grins in every direction.

Tame Impala is quickly becoming my favorite new band.

Neil motherfucking Young. WOW. Hungriest artist there, looked like he had more to prove than anybody.

If anyone finds a Neil Young recording, could you please group it? I need a recording of Walk Like a Giant.

it's on dime a dozen, but it's flac so it's a bit big to group.

Walk Like a Giant and Powderfinger were stuck in my head for days to come after that show. That whistle-riff for Giant is just too much, so heavy.

The weekend was bittersweet after buying a fake 3 Day pass but then receiving a free Friday pass. Saturday was a failure trying to sneak in but Sunday had a great time watching the sets from outside the fence which was really almost as good as being in the festival to be honest, should have just stayed in that spot for all of Saturday

Even though I had to watch Jack White, Tame Impala, and Stevie from a couple miles away and Alabama Shakes up in a tree, I loved every second of it. Of course actually being in the festival for Neil Young and Antibalas who had me shaking was amazing as well. Beer lands was nice except for the ticket line but it wasn't a beer garden so I can't complain

It's not close, you have to take 101 to 152 through Gilroy to get back to that freeway.
