Eh not so much. Saturday last year sold out and while it was definitely more crowded then the other days it still wasn't a major clusterfuck. I'm assuming they capped it at the same amount.

It's not too bad on the way there. All of the nearby buses are a nightmare after the fest / near the end. Best to just accept that it's going to take you ages to get back downtown after wards, and that if you elect to hang out near the park for dinner or drinks, a lot of other people will have had the same idea...

I know, I am saying unless you walk up to California and take the 1, I live off Divis, took the 1 last year, and was home in like 20 minutes and had a seat on the bus everyday. I am trying to give people a tip that was awesome last year.

Especially for the person who originally said they were staying in Japan Town, if you are staying on Geary, you might as well walk 3 more blocks and not ride Satan's Asshole (AKA 38).

That capacity increase is fine by me, as long as they do a better job at stopping the gate crashers. I didn't go last year -- did 2011 have better gate security than previous years?

Also, I don't think what the article said about "moving into Lindley Meadow" is true. The footprints between this and last year's festivals look the same.

Hey.. the 38 is my bus. :P The 1 seems to move so slowly... lots of stop signs rather than stop lights on its path.

Re: capacity, the festival grounds seemed a LOT bigger on the map.. was wondering if that was new for this year or had been expanded last year. Looking forward to the cluster of food/choc/drink places in the middle with the Barbary.

There's a difference in those maps. The box office was in Lindley meadow before, it's moved outside now, and they've filled that in with the food trucks, etc. Looks like some other changes to that area too.

Don't get me wrong, the 38 is my bus too, and the 38L is one of the quickest most efficient busses in the city, in my opinion. That being said, I would rather be hit by the 38 than ride it after 10pm on Outside Lands weekend heading downtown.

Yeah is that removal of the fence though still enough space to warrant additional 5,000 people? Either way it still should be very manageable. Heading up to the city tonight, shit is starting to get very real.

Do any of you have any ideas for me to do tomorrow for sightseeing? Keep in mind I've already done Haight/Ashbury, GGB, Fishermen's Wharf, Fort Mason, Cal Academy of Sciences and other parts of GGP, Ocean Beach and Lands End/Sutro Park. The obvious thing I still need to do (tourist point of view) is Alcatraz but that is just not happening this weekend. Thanks.
