It's a little early for that to be public, but I'm sure there will be at least one good one. Will update the thread if I hear of anything.
Gigatools has an Atom TM & Tobias show listed for that weekend, but there is no other information anywhere else that I can find, so I'm afraid that isn't true. That would be amazing, though.![]()

looks like Metallica is Saturday http://www.metallica.com/tour_overview.asp
I don't think they are going to sell single day passes. With a lineup like this it might be too much of a steal. 70 bucks for metallica/and or neil and a whole days worth of other music? I don't think so. I could be completely wrong though. Someone reassure my broke ass!

garr. I'm assuming they have always done so in the past?
Yeah they have always sold single day tickets. They might wait longer to try to milk some more 3 day passes but they will sell them, even if it's only the day of the show at the box office, assuming it doesn't sell out. It's kind of screwed up to not sell single day tickets for a city festival that offers no camping and ends by 10. And besides if they didn't sell single then whats to stop someone just volunteering for that day and not doing anything and just giving up the $75. I mean there is nothing to stop that anyways but less incentives to do that with single day tickets.
Not sure how this shows that single day tickets will be sold. I mean it's possible but $75 is 1/3 of the 3-day pass price and a reasonable deposit. Any more would deter potential volunteers I would think. Would volunteers have to make a 3-day commitment/deposit at 3-day only festivals like Coachella?

Fairly certain the Atom TM / Tobias show that Heidi mentioned IS happening. No announcement just yet though. Guessing Monarch for that one.
Edit: as I was typing the above I received an email from Monarch confirming that Atom TM / Tobias show for 8/10 and Deepchild on 8/11. So there ya go.

In 2010 when Coachella tried to do the Volunteer thing that's what they had to do. Also it was the year they started doing 3day pass only. I know this because couple people I camped with weren't able to get tickets before it sold out so they "Volunteered" and paid the 3 day deposit, only to not do anything and just lose out on the deposit. It actually saved them some money on the ticket master fees.
I didn't know there was gonna be a comedy line-up, but the Barbary's made up the lack of night shows for me with NPH and David Cross...![]()
Yeah, the comedy lineup is pretty great:
COMEDY AND VARIETY PRESENTED BY Adult Swim, Nerdist Industries, Rockster Productions, SF Sketchfest
David Cross, Neil Patrick Harris, Chris Hardwick, Delocated Witness Protection Program Variety Show with Jon Glaser
Hot Tub with Kristen Schaal & Kurt Braunohler, Brett Gelman, David Koechner, Jonah Ray
Jackie Kashian, Ron Funches, Justin Willman's Magic Meltdown, Marcus Monroe, Mustache Harbor
Caitlin Gill, Jesse Elias, Cory Loykasek AND MUCH MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED
*based upon tedious fact checking.
Oh my, I didn't even realize there was a comedy lineup component this year. Awesome.
