I'll definitely be heading up again this year. I'm really thinking that the acts booked this year will be even better than previous years.

This past summer was so good and the setting is so perfect. I got to sleep in the trunk of my car full of old boxes of Cheerios right next to Golden Gate Park, see incredible music all day, then do it all over again. That place is beautiful and I really like the layout, things like the haybales, and that everyone was really friendly. I will do all I can to get back next year, especially if the lineup is as great as it was this time. This festival rules! Is it mostly locals that attend? It'd be great if it were to become more of a destination fest.
I must have looked as if I were a diseased creature. Covered in cigarette cartons like bird shit, smeary colored face, drinking wine out of a pair of sweat pants. A dead baby hung off the side of my head -- crying to get high on smokes and glue.

The line-up would have to improve dramatically for it to become a destination fest. Certainly, the location gives it that potential, but the lineup has not traditionally been strong enough to connect the location towards that potentiality.

This year's line-up was good enough to get me there and I had a blast. Hopefully, next year's is just as good, if not better.

Only day I attended was the very first one. Fri of 2008. Radiohead, Beck, Black Keys, Manu Chao, Black Mountain, Steel Pulse.

Haven't been too inspired to return. I enjoy Treasure Island more.

I absolutely love this festival, been to three of them next year should be my 4th in a row. Yes it's never had the best line ups but GGP is the perfect place for a fest and the city is a great place to be in. Plus look at it this way, with Phish, Further, and DMB all as previous headliners, what other jam band headliner could they book? Widespread Panic maybe but don't see them as much of a headliner band.

Driving to the fest via the Great Highway from Pacifica is remarkably easy However, I was living in Seattle during the fest's '09 and '10 years. During those years, I went to Sasquatch instead. The decision to skip OSL was a no-brainer.

The line-up last year was great. Especially on Sunday, which was jam packed full of good bands.

I think they have figured out the formula for this fest which is indie & hippie blended together, with a side of electronic. That is going to keep bringing in the locals.

I felt like Friday still had some logistical issues, but they fixed most of them throughout the weekend. Hopefully, they keep improving the festival grounds and line ups, and people will keep coming.

My main issue is making the DJ tent bigger, because there was almost always a line. And the fact that Heinekin light doesn't really get me drunk and I drank so much Newcastle through college that my body is allergic to it now. With all the great beer in California, it would be nice if we can get a micro-brew tent at least.

And I definitely have to try more of the food options next year. I think I ended up with filet sliders four times by accident. But they were tasty.

Plus they played the first year so we should be in the jam band clear.

springsteen looks like a frontrunner for 1 of the headline spots next year:

Speculation about the future of Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band in the wake of the death of beloved sax player Clarence Clemons was addressed on brucespringsteen.net last night: According to a brief post there will be both a new album and a tour in 2012.

"A lot of you have been hearing that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be on tour in 2012," the post says. "That is absolutely correct. The European dates run from the middle of May until end of July and are being announced this week. Info on the US dates and the World tour dates will coming up shortly.

"In addition, we want you to know that the music is almost done (but still untitled), we have almost settled on the release date (but not quite yet), and that we are all incredibly excited about everything that we're planning for 2012. That's all the info we have for right now, but we'll get back to you--real soon."

The first dates to be announced are:
June 21: Sunderland, England (Stadium of Light)
June 22: Manchester, England (Etihad Stadium)
June 24: Isle of Wight, England (Isle of Wight Festival)
July 14: London, England (Hard Rock Calling)

Bruce would be awesome. I have always wanted to see him, and they could give him a 3.5 slot just like they gave Phish this year. He would definitely bring a crowd for the festival.

I have a feeling that Primus will be there, but I said that last year and I was wrong. But since they have a new album out and they headlined other smaller festivals in the Bay Area last year, I could see them as a sub or a sub-sub headliner this year.
