    Omoide Hatoba - Osaka Ra

I didn't listen to the entire album, but the songs that I did hear today get a resounding standing ovation. Especially the long, epic tracks - "Out Rockers on Your Angel Hair" and "Higan."

Can anyone give me a few more album recs? I want to load up my phone with a ton of Japanese rock/metal/psych stuff and listen to it all day while driving tomorrow.

Omoide Hatoba is Seiichi Yamamoto's (guitarist for Boredoms) band.

Check out Rovo - Flage and Ruins - Tzomborgha

You should also check out Kinsei and Black Hawaii by Omoide Hatoba. They had (have?) a ton of good stuff. He pretty much mirrored the Boredoms until he left the band.

SoulDischarge turned me onto this well of information the other day. Reacquainting myself with Flower Travellin' Band's Satori right now and then delving into all of these albums in the coming months.

    I forgot about this thread.

I listened to Boredoms for the first time a few months ago - my library has a copy of Pop Tatari. Upon listening, my first thought was the title of this thread - "Japanese bands are crazy." However, there was something about all the crazy noises going on that made me smile and laugh at times. I enjoyed it, and I've been meaning to check out Super AE.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

Haha. Going from Pop Tatari straight into Super AE will fuck your mind up.

Zircona, for reference, that's the singer/mastermind of Boredoms on that backhoe. He drove it through the wall of the venue.

They also found roadkill and dismembered it at one show, and performed with an active miter saw that they swung dangerously (once injuriously) at the audience.

How'd they let him get away with that?

Also, if going to Super AE will fuck my mind up, what's a good next step after Pop Tatari?

That's not a bad thing whatsoever. You actually went the more interesting route by hearing their early stuff first before diving into latter-day Bore. I'd highly recommend either Super AE if you're willing to spend the time listening to the whole album in one sitting, or Super Roots 7 if you want something a bit more compact first.

And they didn't really let him get away with it, but he did it anyway. As I recall he was charged a ton of money for the destruction. Don't know how he wasn't prosecuted for anything else
