    Default Tom Waits Appreciation Thread

    Facebook:
Want to hear the new Tom Waits album before it comes out? Sign up on TomWaits.com and you will automatically be able to hear the album starting on Monday the 17th. This is the only way that you will be able to hear the new album, Bad As Me, before it is released on October 24th.
How the hell has Bad as Me not leaked yet?

Might be my favorite interview ever.

I was trying to guide you into a thread where it was already being discussed. Nobody understands me.

Stop editing and nahditing yourself every few minutes. I can do a decent enough job of making myself look like a crazy person without your help.

I was going to bump the "Tom Waits Hints Tour" thread, but decided against it.

I was going to embrace it, but I decided to build a near-identical robotic surrogate and embrace that instead because we live in an infinite space and there's very little reason not to fill it with excess. He and I are talking about how Tom Waits hints tour.

I'm also listening to the Glitter & Doom live album for the first time and it's quite fantastic.

EDIT* On the deluxe edition there's an extra track with just Tom talking to the crowd. It's over 30 minutes long.

Just finished the album. I think I am going to have to listen to it a few more times. I definitely enjoyed it, and upon first listen my favorite tracks are "Chicago," "Talking At The Same Time," "Bad As Me," and "Hell Broke Luce," but I feel he retreads a lot of familiar ground here.

It's definitely not reinventing his sound at all, but as a collection of more Tom Waits songs, it's terrific.

On my second listen though, and I agree with this completely. Also, I don't know how I missed it the first time, but "Get Lost" may be not only the best song on the album, but one of the best songs of the year.

I don't understand how you don't have one after starting a thread about how to get them. But, I have some too, so if anybody still needs one, let me know. Starting my first listen now. I'm excited.

Tom clearly reads this board and has chosen favorites. Did you get Alma's, or are you still waiting?

Goddamn you editing your posts after the fact and making me look like an idiot. I don't like that.
