Not seeing Dave Clarke on that list at least suggests that there will be adds with more diversity.

I'll side with bganch on this one because at this point I would say Guedita is most likely not going to edc, so for her to come in here and kinda pour salt on the wound it doesn't really come out well for anyone.
Bottom line Guedita, we know they repeat acts, we know they don't get the deepest/darkest most exclusive european techno dj's ... but its what we have to work with so just let us have fun please?
That is what I was originally thinking BUT remember how they pulled those shenanigans last year?
Mr. Oizo, Kid Cudi, Sasha are a couple names off the top of my head that they had all cued up to play edc, on the line up and everything, and then they got dropped like a sack of potatoes.
She wasn't being a bitch even. She was making fun of someone saying they "literally booked everyone". Which, of course, is preposterous.
Come on people.
5/12 - Acid Mothers Temple - Casbah
5/13 OoOoOo - Soda Bar
5/19 Black Angels / Hanni El Khatib - Belly Up
5/29 Junip - Troubadour
5/30 John Talabot - Echoplex
6/2 Bjork - Hollywood Palladium
Oizo dropped off of the DEMF lineup this year because he's filming a movie. Also -- it's bizarre to randomly assume I have no interest in going to a festival. I'd happily go to a day of this if the talent was interesting enough for me.

While the lineup is not overly spectacular there are quite a few names that I am interested in. I'm really excited to see Danny Tenaglia, Magda, Loco Dice, Dennis Ferrer, Loco Dice, Gaiser, Richie Hawtin presents Enter, Josh Wink, Nicole Moudaber, Blue Man Group, Moby. Hoping for more adds, really sad Dave Clarke or the Chem Bros weren't on the lineup. Overall I am happy, not gonna complain.
Well it is not that bizarre actually. Usually when I want to attend a festival or a show, I won't come in to the thread with such negative comments. Everyone already knows that Insomniac recycles the fuck out of talent, and for the people you were arguing that point with you should just let them have bliss in their ignorance and enjoy the fest thinking it is the greatest line up ever. Why not?
Its like going to a junior high and telling them "fuck the movie Transformers, fuck Twilight, everything that you like sucks because there is stuff out there 10x better that you just don't know about, because it is more rare and harder to come by, and the stuff you do like is of poor quality and cheesy. And I can talk down to you because I do know about it." I just think you should keep that in mind, I recognize that you have an advanced taste in music, and have the knowledge and experience to back your points, and you make valuable contributions to the board just try and be not as confrontational and I'm right, YOU'RE WRONG.
I'd like to see some concrete evidence wherein I posture that my musical interests are objectively "better" than anyone else's.
And sure -- I guess allowing people to live blindly in bliss is a lot better than suggesting that looking critically at an art form that they consume might open them up to better possibilities down the line. What a great approach to have.

Ooops...? I don't go for the recycled crap, I go for the new names or rare acts. Looks like I have 93 new acts to consider checking out this year, plus there is still phase 2 coming. So after some comparing lists from this years lineup to last year lineup i got 46 repeat acts and 93 new names on the lineup. I was just curious and thought I would share my findings. Not that all the new artists are amazing or anything but there are some good ones like Carl Cox, Loco Dice, Dennis Ferrer, Magda and some others I can't think of off the top of my head.
Coachella Weekend #1
It was obvious what said person meant. And I would have no issue if she was consistently in here engaging in conversation (positive and negative), but the only times she comes around is to talk shit on Insomniac or some poster that is genuinely excited for the event. She needs to get a fucking life.

I was in here posting with excitement and enthusiasm about alleged Dave Clarke and Droid Behavior, you idiot.

Because the way you do it is not natural, don't try and come back at me like your main goal on this board is to nurture people's tastes away from bro fisting to Porter Robinson, to enjoying someone like Paco Osuna (although sure, you could be doing them a favor by showing them something they might prefer within a genre that they like, and haven't yet experienced). I owned a Good Charlotte cd when I was 12 years old, and I didn't need to hear that it was lame, stupid, WHATEVER, it was a natural progression that I found there was other music I liked WAY better as time went on. What I'm saying is people don't NEED to broaden their taste in music, they can be casual if they wish, and enjoy the music that everyone else likes and will continue to rant/rave about. If it brings joy and happiness, and fucking awesome memories with friends to their life it doesn't fucking matter. Don't take that away from people.
And its funny how your sarcasm reigns supreme after I recognize your musical intellect and tell you that you make valuable contributions to the board, meaning to all of its members. And I still firmly believe that, I just had that bone to pick with you. Thanks.
MOVING ON
It's a ridiculous bone to pick, if you actually look at the things that have been discussed in this thread.

Also, for good measure: everytime anyone posts with enthusiasm in this thread about something, they should know that they are denying cynical people the opportunity to be cynical. And that just isn't fair.
