I would go if I lived in Austin, but I wouldn't travel for this.
The Rolling Stones - International Noise Conference: Los Angeles - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Austra - Colin Stetson - The Pacific Rim Projekt - The National - Goat Rodeo - Hopscotch 2013- GY!BE - Beirut/Vampire Weekend
The Avett Brothers as headliners, or atleast it appears that way. I'm happy for them I must say. Oh yeah, and I love this lineup. I doubt I can make it, but I would love to go.

I literally would not go to this if this was in my backyard.
For your health
More like Austin Shitty Limits amirite?
I'm so happy about Neil Young. I'll be there.

Surprised not to see ATDI. The Stooges will be a blast. Overall a lot of the same as everywhere else.
IMO, Weezer got relatively low billing.
Nice to see Iggy & Stooges playing shows.
Weezer's billing is completely justified.

wow, really weak. expected too much i guess
Weezer has eaten shit for over a decade and they can't manage to be even sorta engaging live even though their entire repertoire encompasses like 8 chords total.
Fuck em.
"All of you coachella 'regulars' have nasty boy pussies and itchy dick4's on your asses.
Why don't you all make like a tree and get chopped down and die. You all have been dreadfully mean to me.
I Hate you. All of you. None of you will ever get to see a womans chest meat or finger blast hott cougies like me.
Fuck you all. Consider this my resignation.
Fair the well, you elitest scumbags."

Can't believe how many people i'm knocking of my bucket list for $50. May be a lot of repeats on here for other people but I for one am excited

3 day passes sold out in like 45 minutes. Barely grabbed mine.

They scheduled Neil Young and Jack White on the same day
That was dumb

I eyed the lineup, and some of it looked pretty good, but it looks like it sold out before I got the chance to think it over. Are all festivals like this anymore? This is getting ridiculous.
acl has been like this for the last 3-4 years. it has always sold out the fastest of any festival i've been to.

Do you know if secondary market prices drop closer to the fest similar to coach? I have some friends who didn't get their tickets this morning

It seems like that at a certain point in a festival's life span it sells out just because it's there, not because it's good.
Are we talking about Coachella or Austin City Limits here?
All in all, this is a very down year for festivals. Not enough exciting comebacks and knockout headliners. Tough to just reload huge bands year after year and stay fresh and relevant. Maybe festivals should become local events again instead of $2k vacations.
The thing that's been bothering me about ACL the past few years is how quickly it sells out. The past three years the fest has sold out to e-list subscribers, so no 3-day passes have been sold to the general public. Now today Saturday passes sell out and it looks like Friday will as well to e-list subscribers leaving the public with a shot at only Sunday passes. This hasn't been a problem for me since I've always been lucky enough to get tickets or someone has done it for me, but I think it's very lame that the public is missing out before they even have a chance to buy passes. Maybe they should go a Coachella route and sell nothing but 3-day passes to keep the actual people who want to go instead of those who just show up for a day and don't care.
I rarely went to this when I lived there and just turned down an invite to go this year. ACL tends to lean toward stuff I can see elsewhere with better production. Lots of the bands they book tend to have good followings in Austin which is good for the festival selling tickets, but these bands also play Austin throughout the year. There's probably a dozen or so bands on the undercard that just played at SX (usually multiple sets). I would always be burned out on many of the ACL bands by the time ACL came around. I prefer Fun Fun Fun which I still try to attend even though I'm no longer in Austin. FFF definitely has a better lineup if you are into punk and metal. And it's cheaper and not as crowded. I'm in complete agreement with Nathan: ACL is one of my least favorite festivals.
