For 2012, they are offering $50 secret sale tickets. Which is awesome, except that there will only be a very limited quantity available, and they are not going to announce when they go on sale.
So if anyone sees that they are on sale, please text me. Because you love me. Thank you.

Last year they were gone within 10 minutes. even if you get through and are placed in line you're not guaranteed one.
edit: just sign up to receive texts from ACL on Facebook and when they go on sale they will send you a text.

Doesn't this always sell out before the line-up even drops?

Within a matter of seconds. I just happened to be on the homepage hitting refresh when the sale started. I immediately clicked the buy now button (at this time they had been on sale for maybe 5 seconds.) and it sent me to the waiting room. I was in the waiting foom for about 15 seconds tops when I was redirected to the sold out page. I think they only had two or three available. sham of a sham.
^ Same here. Unless I live in Austin. Bummer... they've had some really appealing line-ups in the past.

Now I am back to hating ACL.
I don't understand why I always get the ACL emails about lame stuff like we have a new food vendor something or when the early birds go on sale but I never get the email about the $50 tickets. Same with Lollapalooza.
Nabbed my E-List $185 passes today. ACL and Coachella are my fests in 2012!
i'm skipping acl this year. unless they snag someone that no other fest has, i'm not gonna bother.

I went for the first time this year. Had a great time. Definitely going next year. I liked being able to get a beer and drink it while I watched a set. Weird how it didn't seem to cause any problems having beer outside a beer garden..
So when does the ACL lineup usually drop? I've experienced Austin for the first time during this year's SXSW and really enjoyed it. I'm thinking seriously about ACL.
Found out one of my old friends got 2 secret sale tickets so i'm going for $60 this year! Hopefully there'll be some rumors soon I remember last year consequence of sound had a lot of confirmations before the lineup officially came out

My roommate is a recent transplant from Austin. I had to endure days of "how much better ACL is than Coachella" whining after Weekend One.
