White Stripes and LCD Soundsystem will be in 2019. Weekend 3 will be the best performance though.
Not that this is a suprise to anyone but...
Thom Yorke: Radiohead to tour in 2012, Atoms For Peace album on the way
And just like that, Radiohead threw your savings account for a loop. Appearing on Gilles Peterson’s BBC Radio 1 program earlier tonight, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke revealed that the band intends to hit the road next year in support of their latest LP, The King of Limbs.
“The idea is to go out and play next year on and off during the year,” Yorke explained, adding that the band got a “massive buzz” from their suprise set at the Glastonbury Music Festival. “It feels like a good idea now that we figured out how to play it to go and do it in front of people for a bit.”
Yorke also hinted that Portishead’s Clive Dreamer, who served as the band’s second drummer during the Glastonbury set, will appear on the upcoming tour.
That wasn’t the only bombshell news though; Yorke also revealed that his Atoms For Peace – his all-star super group featuring Flea, Nigel Godirch, Joey Waronker, and Mauro Refosco – have recorded an album, which is currently being finished by Godirch. A release date is still forthcoming.
“It was initially for fun to play all the Eraser stuff, but it sparked something off,” Yorke explained of Atoms For Peace. “So we ended up at the end of that getting into the studio and generating some new beats.” He added that their collaboration in an album in “the sense that Eraser was an album.”
Yorke’s entire appearance lasted two hours and also saw him play a number of the tracks from The King of Limbs remix series. In fact, he debuted Jamie XX’s remix of “Bloom”, which you can hear at The NJ Underground. The entire radio program is archived for the next seven days at the BBC Radio 1 website.
anyone think superheavy would take less than a headlining slot?
to be clear, i'd rather they didn't.

I was talking to my friend who went to Bon Iver/Other Lives show up at Berkeley a few days ago...anyway, after the show she said she ran into the lead singer of Other Lives by the merch area, and she briefly mentioned to him that she would wish they would play Coachella both weekends next year, and he said that they've been working on that and hopefully it happens. Hmm...

Lame. Didn't they have a bad experience last time though? Hated their allotted time or something?

Now, go find Mangum and ask him Chris.
there's now a glimmer of hope for nmh reunion.

I didn't think so either, considering I seem to recall that there was a Pitckfork interview earlier in the year where Adrian stated that this current tour of theirs is to make up for the fact there was no tour behind 3, and that is was going to be a fairly short tour. It doesn't seem likely they would tour the states, come back home, and then travel back to the states nearly five months later. Also, lack of new material since the last go around.
This is the first year since I started going to Coachella where the lineup doesn't even matter to me. I have had my tickets secured for months now so if its an awesome lineup, great. If its not, then what the fuck am i going to do.
Even looking through the rumors isnt exciting me anymore... I feel like the honeymoon stage is over coachellaur just too popular to make me hard before i get inside of u.

This is a straight cut and paste job from monklish's site. So all the usual disclaimers, etc, etc. I just found it interesting, so thought I would share....
--------------------------------------------------------
I know this is going to disappear and going to be counted with all the “fake” posts, but this is the state of the lineup. No Daft. Headliners are only three, and they are what everybody has been guessing: Radiohead, Coldplay, No Doubt. Despite what everybody here thinks, Paul T is very excited about No Doubt and is banking on their new album being huge. No single headliner was the reason for the two day switch, the festival getting bigger as a whole was. All three have been booked forever.
Sahara is essentially not even booked at all, it’s a bit of a mess. There was a big internal dispute over the direction the Sahara will head in next year…some wanted to keep booking EDC/Hard acts, some wanted to go more experimental. So that part of the lineup more or less up in the air, although Kaskade, Simian Mobile Disco, Justice have all been locked down, as have several smaller acts. Apparat and Modeselektor are also booked, may end up in Mojave. Justice has not been placed, they will either close a stage or be the Sahara headliner, it is essentially banking on how well their live show is received when it debuts. David Guetta was in talks, but his ego was ridiculous and he was demanding money and billing that GV was not prepared to give him, and so they decided they didn’t want him that bad and have frozen him out.
Bon Iver has literally been booked since last Coachella ended, Justin was so electrified about the energy of the festival after his Gayngs/Kanye performances that he committed a week later. No OutKast, but we will get a solo Big Boi performance. Pulp is in, Fleet Foxes, Neutral Milk Hotel, Florence, Incubus (I know…), Nicki Minaj (I KNOW…), Queens of the Stone Age, Tom Waits, My Morning Jacket is getting a subheadlining position and an extra long set, although to get that they had to compromise and it will likely half overlap with the headliner of the day and will probably be on the Outdoor. There are several big names being wooed for the rest of the subheadlining positions, most are close to signing but I’m really only being told who has signed on. Most of the undercard is booked, but I am not privy to all of it…The Weeknd is booked but they are terrified of a flake performance, Yeasayer will be back, Lana del Rey got a spot within the last few weeks based on the hype she’s been getting, Pusha T, Boris, St. Vincent, The Black Lips. These names were all told to me anecdotally in various ways, but I know that essentially all of the undercard is a done deal (they are keeping a few slots open in case anybody blows up over the next few months, Lana got in that way).
Pure Filth/Oasis Dome will be back, but all that I’ve heard is that Kreayshawn (the chick who does the Gucci Gucci song) is booked, probably for a Lil’ B type spot.
Who will not be there? Feist, despite her new album, is not doing it. The Throne was actually offered first subheadliner of the poster (more on the poster format in a second) just because they couldn’t give Jay-Z and Kanye headliner again so soon, it was summarily turned down, although they weren’t nearly as bitchy about it as you might think. The Knife was in talks for a second, but they are just not ready.
The only two repeats will be as follows. Foster the People is getting another shot and will probably be a Mojave/Outdoor act. SBTRKT is coming back, but he will be live, probably Gobi but maybe Mojave if he keeps getting traction.
Details of the weekend are that the headliners will be locked in to a night…Coldplay opens on Friday, No Doubt is on Saturday (if Justice closes the main, this is the night), Radiohead Sunday. However, the rest of the set times will not be the same. They literally (so far) have succeeded in replicating the lineup exactly, but not every act will play the same day due to touring schedules. So the poster will read the top three names on top with the dates they play in smaller font directly below them, and then everything else will be billed under them. Days for the rest of the acts will not be released until set times would be.

I just can't believe they actually have Tom Waits booked. I know he has a new album coming out in a few weeks and his new manager (or booking agent? one of the two) now works for Goldenvoice... but I just can't believe Tom Waits has actually been booked. It seems far too unreal.
Also I would 100% watch Nikki Minaj.
