What? Oh, well if you were on the floor you were in the pit at one point or another. This place was small. I got knocked into/on the stage at one point.
They played for an hour and 20 minutes I'd say. Encore(a genuine one) and all.

Ty Segall to Release Two New Albums
http://pitchfork.com/news/45389-ty-s...wo-new-albums/In a recent interview with the Dartmouth College blog Dartbeat, Ty Segall said he will release two new albums within the next six months, in addition to his upcoming collaboration with White Fence. Thanks to Robert Szypko for the tip.
Segall says the first LP will be "a mini LP" for In the Red, collecting eight songs written and recorded with his touring band. Of the record, he said, "The live band is so much different than me recording stuff on my own, it's a lot harder and louder."
The other album will, as usual, be written and recorded by Segall on his own, and will be released via Drag City.
Of his previously reported collaboration with White Fence, titled Hair and also forthcoming from Drag City, Segall said, "It doesn't really sound like either one of us. It's kinda like starting a new band." He added, "It sounds a bit more drug influenced, a bit more psychedelic and weird."

His was the best set at OSL, and a happy accidental discovery for me. Do you guys remember how crazy fun the King Khan crowd was two years ago? This would be that. Ty Segall 2012, please.
Doubt it... he's playing the Troubadour on March 3rd.
5/12 - Acid Mothers Temple - Casbah
5/13 OoOoOo - Soda Bar
5/19 Black Angels / Hanni El Khatib - Belly Up
5/29 Junip - Troubadour
5/30 John Talabot - Echoplex
6/2 Bjork - Hollywood Palladium
Of the 10 or so Ty Segall sets I've seen, that OSL set was the 2nd worst, imo. It just lacked the energy and intimacy that usually comes with a Ty Segall show.
I only point this out to tell those who saw him for the first time at OSL that it gets even better...see him in a club!
The new jam with White Fence is pretty awesome. I can't wait to see them together later this year. Still amazed at how little love Ty Segall gets from the festival circuit. Stupidness.
^^ I like that a lot. This one from his split w/ Feeling the Love is nice but sounds more like something that could have easily been included on Goodbye Bread
The new material he has been playing live is seriously killer though. The Black Sabbath influence is really starting to show and I think the next album is going to be a big step.
Bump. Reeeally digging the new album.

Still need to give the new one a close(r) listen, but on first listen, I think I like Slaughterhouse better. That one just slays. Either way, they will have plenty of fun, new jams to play at TI Fest this Sunday...can't wait for that party!
Surprised there has been such little talk about "Mother Lemonade", the b-side to "The Hill" single. Not only is it a great jam, but it's even got some slick production going on in it (for Ty Segall, that is).
New band Ty is in (doing drums & vocals, apparently). These two jams are awesome!
