Saturday morning I get a call from my mom. She's crying and said " It's happening". I got up got ready and headed over to find my sister standing outside with her arms crossed not wanting to go inside. I hugged her as she broke down. All she could get out was " My Dad"...

My father Jose Gomez Sr. passed away Saturday morning. He will be missed but he is off in a better place. He was able to pass in his bed in the home he worked so hard to purchase.

This may come off as bad, but your mom was so fortunate to be there with him when he passed. My dad was in a rehabilitation center after sufferring from a couple of strokes. My mom would go on the weekend and shave him, play his favorite music, and hang out and talk to him, since he wasn't able to speak. One Sunday morning my mom got a late start. The 3 of us where drinking coffee and watching TV and we received a call that he had passed. I went like every other 3 weekends of so, but my mom went every weekend. We never talked about it, but I knew that she felt like she had let him down and die alone.

You know he worked for you guys and that you could have something more than what they had growing up.

    Hang in there Eastlos01.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Doesnt come off bad at all. I know that she got some peace like that. Thank You for sharing your story though. I know the next few days are going to be a roller coaster but knowing he went in his sleep with my mom there helps out.
