Dream Theater: Not at Coachella. I could never see that happening.
    Opeth: Yes.

Every year Coachella needs that token metal band and Opeth and Meshuggah are overdue.

Would Porcupine Tree be considered progressive metal? I'm still bitter that they had that shitty early afternoon slot on the outdoor.

    Same goes for Baroness.
Their time slot was pretty damn early in '10.

    Hell yeah to Converge.
Now that you mention it, let's throw Trash Talk in the mix. Not really progressive but just a kickass band.

    Meshuggah would be my choice.

That is, of course, if Tool isn't headlining.

Opeth, Converge, Aggolach, Botch reunion, whatever. Let's make it happen. Keep it in a tent and keep it at night.

I would like to see Meshuggah or Opeth play the Outdoor Theatre Stage.

    Converge can play the Sahara.

Neither of them would get a big enough crowd for the Outdoor. Did you see how little of a crowd Mastodon had in 09, and they are bigger than both of those bands in the US. Not to mention Bonnaroo just had Opeth and they will most likely be done with their tour or in Australia by Coachella time. How about some newer bands that seem more Coachella friendly?

    Russian Circles

    Black Math Horsemman

    Rosetta

Rabbits not really progressive, but they're on Relapse so that automatically makes them Coachella friendly

Grayceon if any metal band in the world should play Coachella it should first and foremost be Grayceon

Out of all of the replies I love the idea of Russian Circles the most (followed closely by Meshuggah), but I think Opeth has the greatest shot at landing a slot this year. They have a new album dropping within the next month and have pretty much completely done away with the death metal vocals. Haven't seen them in quite a few years so I have no idea what the new lineup is like live, but Michael and crew have always put on a phenomenal show.
