It is correct that SpyonVegas offers up free tickets, however depending on which employee you deal with you may also need an Identity Membership (free casino reward card thing). I personally have never needed to show mine, but I had friends that were denied entry when they didn't have one. *shrugs* Again, this is specific to the Thursday shows..it doesn't work this way for the bigger concerts.

All of the Thursday Social Club shows have access to all 3 of the Boulevard pools..I've gone to the last 4 shows and swam each time in each of the pools :-)

For the regular concerts, they either drain the larger pool to use as standing room or leave it filled but not allow you to swim in it.

(That info is more to people who haven't been to the Cosmo, not to snidely correct you, Tigermilkboy )

For the 'free' shows on Thurs, it will always say 'Blvd Social Club Presents'. Shows like Foster The People and Janes Addiction aren't part of the series. Whether they offer 'free' tickets to The Hives depends on how many they sell.

BTW for those who don't know, 'Identity' Club membership is available on the ground floor of the Cosmo. It is a free to sign up players card. Usually you get some good promo's mailed to you.

Doesn't surprise me the rules are all over the place at Blvd Pool. In April I left a show to go in and out, someone stamped by hand and when I came back the security looked at me like I was crazy 'no in and outs are allowed'. Things like that are often frustrating about the Cosmo.

I doubt it is anywhere near sold out. I wouldn't buy a ticket, chances are spyonvegas might extend the free tickets. Even then you would save a few bucks by buying at the Cosmo on the night of the show.

The only negative with the NYE show is that the Strip is closed off and the traffic switches over to Paradise. Consequently it can take an age to get in the Hard Rock, as for getting out the parking, I would stay in the casino for a couple of hours.

If you're not staying in an HRH suite that night then you're doing it wrong. If I go to this we'll get a room for two nights, eat at Nobu, Pink Taco and the steak house, probably get a tatt and go to the spa/gym, like a boss.

Not sure I'd do that if I still lived there, but if anyone is coming in to town for these shows on NYE then I'd stay at the Hard Rock and get a suite. They run from about $600 for a 2 night stay, but if you stay on the Strip you are gonna have a bummer of a time on NYE waiting for cabs/shuttles or walking.
You can walk off the property and head over the road to Hofbrauhaus or cheap liqor at St Tropez. A bunch of other good eats fairly close by like Capriotti's, Origin India, Johnny Rockets etc.

In reality, there is no reason to leave the Hard Rock. Why travel off-site for second rate ammenities when the Hard Rock offers the very best of everything? The only places that I'd suggest venturing off to are Club Paradise and/or maybe the Double Down, if someone like Red Kross happens to be playing there. Otherwise, live it up like a boss at the HR. It truely is all-inclusive.

I always had to leave the Hard Rock when the munchies hit for a Capastrami Sandwich at Capriotti's.

Oh yeah, Capriotti's is the bomb. I always get the Philly Cheese Steak, though. The pizza place isn't bad, either. I haven't been to the Hard Rock in a while, but I'll be there this weekend for the Fionna Apple show.

Ah yes, they do a good slice of pie there-I assume it is good, but since it was always eaten after many drinks I am not certain. The Hard Rock needs a pop up pizza joint like Cosmo.

BTW if anyone is interested they dropped a bunch of 1st and 2nd row center seats for Fiona Apple yesterday.

The Gobbler isn't that from Farm Basket? The Gobbler, Super Gobbler and Super Clucker. The food is as awful as it sounds, but always fun to order. I'd go thru the drive-thru 8 times just to order a Stupid Fucker. The days just flew by!
