I agree with you disagreeing with Courtney on Train in Vain, but there are also half a dozen songs on Darkness better than the title track.

wow, did you all misinterpret the title to mean "the last song is a good song", or do you all really think your choices are the actual best song on the album? because if its the latter, a lot of you suck.

i guess i should also pick one now so you can criticize me too:

    GnR - Appetite for Destruction

I'm torn but feel this way as well, although some of the early tracks are absolute monsters that I enjoy listening to more (Zodiac Shit, Computer Face, etc.), but I don't know if I could call them the best. The whole album is pretty retardedly sweet.

Closed my wedding reception with this. Spoiled it a little bit for me, but probably the best answer on this thread.

    I'm going to go with...

    Pet Shop Boys-Behavior: Jealousy

Do the Astral Plane is a fantastic track, but I remember the first time I heard Galaxy in Janakai in a live set and it just floored me. It took a couple of listens for it to dawn on me just how great the song is with all it's subtleties, too.

That's another one I'd agree with. Far and away the best song on that album.

There are some splendid selections in this thread. Here's some more...

Talking Heads - "This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)" from Speaking in Tongues: This is an inferior shortened single version, though it's still great - probably my favorite album closer)

The Stone Roses - "I Am the Resurrection" from The Stone Roses

Blur - "Battery in Your Leg" from Think Tank

Syd Barrett - "Late Night" from The Madcap Laughs

The Horrors - "Sea Within a Sea" from Primary Colours

This. When the snare kicks in? Goodbye sanity.

I specifically loved the way Galaxy evolved from 2008 to the present, from a live banger to an absolutely essential headphone track.

Yeah, but Cop Shoot Cop isn't as good as I Think I'm In Love. Miles Davis influenced psych tracks always take the cake.

REM - Lifes Rich Pagent - Superman. I know the song is kinda cheesy but I fucking love it and when you think about what they are really talking about it turns creepy which makes it creepy/better.
